‘ Every seventh year each of you must free any fellow Hebrews who have sold themselves to you. After they have served you six years, you must let them go free.’ Your ancestors, however, did not listen to me or pay attention to me.

‘ Every seventh year you must set your people free. Each of you must set free all the Hebrews who have sold themselves to you. Let them serve you for six years. Then you must let them go free.’( Deuteronomy 15:12) But your people of long ago did not listen to me. They did not pay any attention to me.

‘ At the end of seven years each of you must set free the fellow Hebrew who has been sold to you and has served you six years; you must set him free from your service.’ But your fathers did not listen to me or incline their ears to me.

I told them that every Hebrew slave must be freed after serving six years. But your ancestors paid no attention to me.

‘ At the end of seven years, each of you must let his fellow Hebrew who sold himself to you go. He may serve you six years, but then you must let him go free from your service.’ But your ancestors did not obey me or pay any attention.

“ At the end of seven years each of you shall set free his Hebrew brother who has been sold to you and has served you for six years, and you shall send him out free from you.” But your forefathers did not obey Me nor incline their ear to Me.

“ At the end of seven years let every man set free his Hebrew brother, who has been sold to him; and when he has served you six years, you shall let him go free from you.” But your fathers did not obey Me nor incline their ear.

At the end of seven years ye shall let go every man his brother that is a Hebrew, that hath been sold unto thee, and hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.

At the end of seven years, each of you must free his Hebrew brother who sold himself to you. He may serve you six years, but then you must send him out free from you. But your ancestors did not obey Me or pay any attention.

如爾昆弟希伯來人、或男或女鬻於爾、服役六年、越至七年、必釋之、

耶和華諭之曰、凡民所言、爾可從之、彼非棄爾、乃棄我也、不欲我為其王、自我導之出埃及、迄於今日、彼之所行、離我而事他神、今待爾亦若是、

惟以色列族、所羅門不使之服役、乃為戰士、臣僕、牧伯、軍長、及車騎之長、

耶和華藉諸先知先見、戒以色列與猶大人曰、當轉離爾之惡途、守我誡命典章、循我所命爾列祖、及藉我僕眾先知授爾之法、惟彼弗聽、強項不馴、如其不信厥上帝耶和華之列祖、

以銀購窮乏、以屨易貧民、以劣麥出售、

今爾有意抑制猶大與耶路撒冷人、使為僕婢、爾曹豈非亦獲罪於爾上帝耶和華乎、

耶和華曰、以色列人與猶大人、自少行我所惡、以色列人專以其手所為、激我震怒、

從未有若亞哈自鬻、行耶和華所惡者、為其后耶洗別所慫恿也、

六年間、耕種田畝、斂其所產、越至七年、使之休息、留為閒田、以食民之貧者、餘任野獸食之、葡萄園橄欖園亦然、

耶和華曰、我出爾母、離書安在、我鬻爾身、債主為誰、爾之見鬻、以爾罪故、爾母見出、以爾愆故、

自爾列祖出埃及時、以迄於今、我日遣我僕諸先知詣爾、乃夙興而遣之、惟爾不從、不傾耳以聽、乃強厥項、作惡甚於列祖、

惟彼違逆、而不聽我、不棄所慕可惡之物、不離埃及之偶像、故彼尚在埃及、我曰、必傾我怒、盡洩我忿於其身、

西底家王與耶路撒冷民立約、宣告自由之後、耶和華諭耶利米之言、其約命人各釋僕婢、希伯來男女、使之自由、不以同族猶大人為隸役、

爾之寬容、歷年已久、以爾之靈感諸先知、俾警戒之、惟彼不聽、故爾付於異邦人手、

人子歟、爾欲鞫之乎、鞫之、使知厥祖可惡之事、

惟彼訕笑上帝之使、藐視其言、譏其先知、致耶和華之怒及於其民、無可救治、

苦哉、我之為人也、誰拯我出此致死之身乎、

夫我儕知律屬神、我屬形軀、自鬻於罪、蓋我所為者、不自知也、以我所願者不行之、所惡者斯行之、若我行所不願者、則許律為善矣、今行之者、非我也、乃居我中之罪也、

我所選之禁食、豈非釋凶惡之索、解人之負、縱受屈者自逸、而折諸軛乎、

茲有律例、當宣於民前曰、如購希伯來僕、可役事六年、迨七年、則使之自由、不索贖金、若孑身而來、則亦孑身而去、有妻則與俱去、若主給妻、生有子女、則妻孥屬主、僕孑然而去、

彼乃不從、不側耳以聽、惟徇其惡心之剛愎而行、不遵我所命之約、故我以此約所言加之、○耶和華諭我曰、猶大人及耶路撒冷居民中、有叛逆之謀、厥祖不遵我言、彼效其尤、從他神而事之、以色列家與猶大家、背我與其祖所立之約、

惟彼不從、而轉其肩、塞耳不聽、鐵石其心、不聽法律、與萬軍之耶和華以其神藉古先知所傳之言、緣此、萬軍之耶和華大發其怒、

耶和華曰、以色列干罪、至三至四、我不挽回厥罰、以其鬻義人而得銀、鬻貧民以易屨也、
