掃羅聞約拿單言、指耶和華而誓、必不殺之。約拿單招大闢以告、導見掃羅、仍侍於側。○後有戰鬥、大闢出攻非利士人、大戮其眾、餘潰而遁。耶和華使惡神憑掃羅、掃羅持戟坐於室中、大闢鼓琴、掃羅以戟擊大闢欲釘於墻、大闢避焉、戟入於墻、是夕大闢遁而獲免。掃羅遣人守於大闢家、待旦欲殺之、大闢妻米甲告之曰、今夕不自救、明日必見殺。

殺戮數民、其餘悔改、竭力以求兮、民思至高之上帝、自昔造之、恆復拯之兮、仍進以甘言、貢以媚詞兮、

所言詭詐、不順道、不行善兮、

猶大王西底家及其牧伯、我必付之於敵手、殲滅其生命、巴比倫王之軍族、雖去爾而他往、我將命之復至、攻城而取之、焚之以火、使猶大諸邑荒蕪、無人居處。

掃羅曰、我有罪而誤行、不智孰甚。我子大闢、今可遄歸、爾以我命為寶、我亦不復害爾。

蓋法老必自謂以色列族迷於野、不得出其藩。法老剛愎厥心、追襲爾後、我姑聽之、迨殲法老、覆其軍、以獲大榮、使埃及人知行是事者、我耶和華也。以色列族遵命而行。○或告埃及王曰、以色列族逋逃於外、法老及群臣中心悔曰、奚為釋以色列族、致不役事於我。遂備其車、民盡相從、簡車六百乘、與通國之驍騎軍長、襲其後。法老剛愎厥心、耶和華姑聽之。以色列族毫無畏葸而出埃及、

法老少覺寛舒、剛愎厥心、仍不聽從、而耶和華前言應矣。

迦勒底人圍耶路撒冷、聞法老軍旅、自埃及而至、遂撤圍。

主曰、以法蓮猶大、我將何如視爾、爾之敬虔、有若朝雲、立見其散、有若晨露、立見其晞、

今姑宥我、禱爾上帝耶和華、免此大災。二人退、禱耶和華。耶和華令西風驟起悉驅其蝗、投之紅海、埃及境內、不遺一蝗。法老剛愎厥心、不釋以色列族、耶和華姑聽之。○

抑藐視其鴻慈、寛容、恆忍、不知上帝之仁愛、導爾悔改乎、乃爾剛愎、罔有悛心、積愆干怒、待上帝震怒、義鞫顯日、
