Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and all his armies were fighting against Jerusalem. They were also fighting against all the towns around it. All the kingdoms and nations Nebuchadnezzar ruled over were helping him. At that time a message from the Lord came to Jeremiah. The Lord said,

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army and all the kingdoms of the earth under his dominion and all the peoples were fighting against Jerusalem and all of its cities:

King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came with all the armies from the kingdoms he ruled, and he fought against Jerusalem and the towns of Judah. At that time this message came to Jeremiah from the Lord:

The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities thereof, saying,

The LORD spoke to Jeremiah while King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon was attacking Jerusalem and the towns around it with a large army. This army consisted of troops from his own army and from the kingdoms and peoples of the lands under his dominion.

The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, with all his army, all the kingdoms of the earth that were under his dominion, and all the peoples, were fighting against Jerusalem and against all its cities, saying:

西底家作王第九年十月初十，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领全军前来攻击耶路撒冷，对城安营，四围筑堡垒攻城。城被围困，直到西底家王十一年。四月初九，城里的饥荒非常严重，当地的百姓都没有粮食。城被攻破，士兵全都在夜间从靠近王的花园、两城墙中间的门逃跑。迦勒底人正在四围攻城，王就往亚拉巴逃去。迦勒底的军队追赶王，在耶利哥的平原追上他；他的全军都离开他溃散了。迦勒底人就拿住王，带他到利比拉的巴比伦王那里；他们就判他的罪。他们在西底家眼前杀了他的儿女，挖了西底家的眼睛，用铜链锁着他，带到巴比伦去。巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒十九年五月初七，巴比伦王的臣仆尼布撒拉旦护卫长进入耶路撒冷，他焚烧了耶和华的殿、王宫和耶路撒冷一切的房屋；用火焚烧所有大户人家的房屋。

尼布甲尼撒王对住在全地各方、各国、各族的人说：“愿你们大享平安！

我用大能和伸出来的膀臂创造大地和地上的人民、牲畜。我看给谁合适，就把地给谁。现在我将全地都交在我仆人巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒手中，也把野地的走兽给他使用。列国都要服事他和他的子孙，直到他本国遭报的日期来到；那时，许多国家和大君王要使他作奴隶。

犹大王西底家第九年十月，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领全军前来围困耶路撒冷。西底家十一年四月初九日，城被攻破。耶路撒冷被攻下的时候，巴比伦王的众官长，尼甲‧沙利薛、三甲‧尼波、撒西金将军、尼甲‧沙利薛将军，并巴比伦王其余的官长都来坐在中门。

那时，巴比伦王的军队正攻打耶路撒冷，又攻打犹大仅存的城镇，就是拉吉和亚西加；原来犹大的坚固城只剩下这两座。

他行耶和华—他神眼中看为恶的事，没有谦卑听从耶利米先知所传达耶和华的话。尼布甲尼撒王曾叫他指着神起誓，他却背叛，硬着颈项，内心顽固，不归向耶和华—以色列的神。众祭司长和百姓也多多犯罪，效法列国一切可憎的事，玷污耶和华在耶路撒冷分别为圣的殿。耶和华—他们列祖的神因为爱惜自己的百姓和居所，一再差遣使者去警戒他们。他们却嘲笑神的使者，藐视他的话，讥诮他的先知，以致耶和华向他的百姓大发烈怒，甚至无法可救。所以，耶和华使迦勒底人的王来攻击他们，在他们圣殿里用刀杀了他们的壮丁，不怜悯他们的少男少女、老人长者。耶和华把所有的人都交在他手里。

“王啊，这成长又茁壮的树就是你。你的威势成长及于天，你的权柄达到地极。

因神所赐给他的大权，各方、各国、各族的人都在他面前恐惧战兢，因他要杀就杀，要人活就活，要升就升，要降就降。
