While Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army and all the kingdoms and peoples in the empire he ruled were fighting against Jerusalem and all its surrounding towns, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord:

Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and all his armies were fighting against Jerusalem. They were also fighting against all the towns around it. All the kingdoms and nations Nebuchadnezzar ruled over were helping him. At that time a message from the Lord came to Jeremiah. The Lord said,

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army and all the kingdoms of the earth under his dominion and all the peoples were fighting against Jerusalem and all of its cities:

King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came with all the armies from the kingdoms he ruled, and he fought against Jerusalem and the towns of Judah. At that time this message came to Jeremiah from the Lord:

The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities thereof, saying,

The LORD spoke to Jeremiah while King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon was attacking Jerusalem and the towns around it with a large army. This army consisted of troops from his own army and from the kingdoms and peoples of the lands under his dominion.

The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, with all his army, all the kingdoms of the earth that were under his dominion, and all the peoples, were fighting against Jerusalem and against all its cities, saying:

看哪！我要呼召北方列国的众族，他们要来，各人在耶路撒冷的城门口，设立自己的座位，攻击耶路撒冷周围的城墙，又攻击犹大各城镇。”这是耶和华的宣告。

王啊！你是万王之王，天上的神已经把国度、权柄、能力和尊荣都赐给你；也把散居在各处的世人、田野的走兽和空中的飞鸟，都交在你手里，使你管理这一切。你就是那金头。

那时，巴比伦王的军队正在围困耶路撒冷，耶利米先知被囚禁在犹大王宫中卫兵的院子里。

西底家作王第九年十月十日，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领他的全军来攻打耶路撒冷；他们在城外安营，又在四围筑垒攻城。于是，城被围困，直到西底家王第十一年。四月九日，城里饥荒非常严重，甚至那地的人民都断了粮食。城终于被攻破了，所有的战士就在夜间从靠近王的花园的两墙中间的那门，逃跑出城。那时迦勒底人在四围攻城；他们就往亚拉巴的方向逃走。迦勒底人的军队追赶王，在耶利哥的原野上把他追上了；他的全军都离开他四散了。他们把王擒住，把他解到利比拉巴比伦王那里；他们就宣判他的罪。他们又在西底家眼前杀了他的众子，并且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎，然后用铜链锁住他，把他带到巴比伦去。五月七日，就是巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒第十九年，巴比伦王的大臣，护卫长尼布撒拉旦来到耶路撒冷。他放火焚烧耶和华的殿和王宫，以及耶路撒冷一切房屋；一切高大的房屋，他都放火烧了。

尼布甲尼撒王向住在全地的各国、各族和说各种语言的人宣告说：“愿你们大享平安！

是我用大能和伸出来的膀臂创造了大地，以及地面上的人和兽；我看给谁适合，就把地给谁。现在我已经亲自把这一切国家都交在我仆人巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒的手中，连田野的走兽，我也交给他，供他奴役。列国都要服事他和他的儿子、孙子，直到他本国遭报的时候来到；那时，许多国家和大君王都要奴役他。

犹大王西底家第九年十月，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领他的全军来攻击耶路撒冷，把城围困起来。西底家第十一年四月九日，城被攻破。巴比伦王所有的将领：尼甲．沙利薛、三甲．尼波、大臣（“大臣”的本意不明确）撒西金、术士长（“术士长”的本意不明确）尼甲．沙利薛，以及巴比伦王所有其余的将领，都进城，坐在中门。

那时，巴比伦王的军队正在攻打耶路撒冷和犹大剩下的城镇，就是拉吉和亚西加，因为在犹大的各城中，只剩下这两座坚固的城了。

他行耶和华他的神看为恶的事；耶利米先知奉耶和华的命令警戒他，他仍不在耶利米面前谦卑下来。尼布甲尼撒王曾经使他指着神起誓，他还是背叛了尼布甲尼撒；他顽固执拗，不肯归向耶和华以色列的神。此外，所有的祭司长和人民也都大大地得罪神，随从列国所行一切可憎的事；他们污秽了耶和华在耶路撒冷分别为圣的殿。耶和华他们列祖的神，因为爱惜自己的子民和居所，就常常差派使者警戒他们。他们却戏弄神的使者，藐视他的话，讥诮他的先知，以致耶和华的忿怒临到他的子民身上，直到无法挽救。耶和华使迦勒底人的王上来攻打他们，在他们的圣殿里用刀杀了他们的壮丁，少男和少女以及年老衰弱的，他们都不怜惜；耶和华把所有这些人都交在迦勒底王的手里。

王啊！你就是那树，越来越伟大坚强；你的威势渐长，高达于天；你的权柄直到地极。

因神所赐给他的权势，各国、各族和说各种语言的人，都在他面前战兢恐惧；他要杀谁，就杀谁；要谁活着，谁就可以活着；要提升谁，就提升谁；要贬低谁，就贬低谁。
