But I, the LORD, make the following promise: I have made a covenant governing the coming of day and night. I have established the fixed laws governing heaven and earth.

This is what the Lord says:‘ If I have not made my covenant with day and night and established the laws of heaven and earth,

I say,‘ What if I had not made my covenant with day and night? What if I had not established the laws of heaven and earth?

Thus says the Lord: If I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed order of heaven and earth,

But this is what the Lord says: I would no more reject my people than I would change my laws that govern night and day, earth and sky.

This is what the LORD says: If I do not keep my covenant with the day and with the night, and if I fail to establish the fixed order of heaven and earth,

This is what the Lord says:‘ If My covenant for day and night does not continue, and I have not established the fixed patterns of heaven and earth,

“ Thus says the Lord:‘ If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth,

Thus saith Jehovah: If my covenant of day and night stand not, if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

This is what the Lord says: If I do not keep My covenant with the day and with the night and fail to establish the fixed order of heaven and earth,

Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant[ be] not with day and night,[ and if] I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

Yahweh says:“ If my covenant of day and night fails, if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

You established the cycle of day and night; you put the moon and sun in place.You set up all the boundaries of the earth; you created the cycle of summer and winter.

He made the moon to mark the months, and the sun sets according to a regular schedule.

The LORD has made a promise to Israel. He promises it as the one who fixed the sun to give light by day and the moon and stars to give light by night. He promises it as the one who stirs up the sea so that its waves roll. He promises it as the one who is known as the LORD who rules over all.The LORD affirms,“ The descendants of Israel will not cease forever to be a nation in my sight. That could only happen if the fixed ordering of the heavenly lights were to cease to operate before me.”

“ I, LORD, make the following promise:‘ I have made a covenant with the day and with the night that they will always come at their proper times. Only if you people could break that covenant

“ While the earth continues to exist, planting time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”

“ Look! I now confirm my covenant with you and your descendants after youand with every living creature that is with you, including the birds, the domestic animals, and every living creature of the earth with you, all those that came out of the ark with you– every living creature of the earth.I confirm my covenant with you: Never again will all living things be wiped out by the waters of a flood; never again will a flood destroy the earth.”And God said,“ This is the guarantee of the covenant I am making with you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all subsequent generations:I will place my rainbow in the clouds, and it will become a guarantee of the covenant between me and the earth.Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,then I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures of all kinds. Never again will the waters become a flood and destroy all living things.When the rainbow is in the clouds, I will notice it and remember the perpetual covenant between God and all living creatures of all kinds that are on the earth.”So God said to Noah,“ This is the guarantee of the covenant that I am confirming between me and all living things that are on the earth.”
