I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars in the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore.’”

Here is what I will do for my servant David. And here is what I will do for the Levites who serve me. I will make their children after them as many as the stars in the sky. And I will make them as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. It will be impossible to count them.”

As the host of heaven cannot be numbered and the sands of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the offspring of David my servant, and the Levitical priests who minister to me.”

遂攜之出外曰、仰觀天、試數眾星能勝數呼、又曰、爾之後裔必如是、

我僕大衛必為其王、斯眾為一牧所治理、必遵我法度、守我律例而行之、彼必居於我賜我僕雅各之地、即其其原文作爾列祖所居之地、彼與子孫、及其子孫之子孫、皆居於斯地、直至永遠、我僕大衛為其君、直至永遠、我必與之立平康之約、為永遠之約、我必使之安居其所、我必使之安居其所或作我必堅定之使其人數增多、必置我之聖所於其中、直至永遠、我之居所、既在其中、我必為其天主、彼為我之民、

主曰、我自其中選人為祭司、為利未人、

故由一人、身若已死者、生育蕃衍、如天星之眾、如海沙之無數、

主如是云、如能上度天、下測地、則我亦因以色列族所為棄以色列族、此乃主所言、

我必使爾後裔多如地之塵沙然、若人能核數地之塵沙、則爾之後裔亦可核數、

子子孫孫、必奉事主、世世代代、必頌揚主、

將來或作雖然以色列人數必如海沙、不可量、不可計、今我語之曰、爾曹非我民、後日必稱為永生天主之子、

此後我觀之、見有大眾、不可勝數、由諸族諸姓諸民諸國來、立於寶座及羔前、衣白衣、手執巴勒瑪巴勒瑪椶類株高而結果果形似棗枝、大聲呼曰、拯救歸於坐寶座者我天主及羔、

當是日主必扞衛耶路撒冷居民、當是日其中弱者、亦必若大衛、大衛家必若神、若主之使者導於其前者、

主曾云、我與我所選之人立約、向我僕人大衛發誓、我必使爾子孫延續無窮、必使爾國位建立萬世、細拉、

主願使之受折磨、受苦楚、以己身獻為贖罪祭後、必得見後裔、壽命綿延、主之志必藉以大成、主之志必藉以大成或作其手所行主之事無不亨通主曰、彼受艱苦後、見所結之果、無不心足、我之義僕、必以己之智慧、使多人稱義、並任其罪愆、是故我使彼與位大者同得其分、與世之強者共分貲財、緣彼甘心捐命、人列之於罪人中、實則負他人之罪、更為惡人祈禱、

使其後裔世世長存、使其國位與天同久、

惟利未人為祭司、屬撒督之子孫者、可詣前以奉事我、昔以色列族迷罔背我時、彼仍於我聖所公職、今可立於我前、獻脂與血於我、此乃主天主所言、

爾之後裔、將多如地之塵沙、向東西南北蔓延、天下萬族、因爾與爾後裔得福、
