Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape the Babylonians but will certainly be given into the hands of the king of Babylon, and will speak with him face to face and see him with his own eyes.

Zedekiah, the king of Judah, will not escape from the powerful hands of the armies of Babylon. He will certainly be handed over to the king of Babylon. Zedekiah will speak with him face to face. He will see him with his own eyes.

Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye.

King Zedekiah will be captured by the Babylonians and taken to meet the king of Babylon face to face.

King Zedekiah of Judah will not escape from the Chaldeans; indeed, he will certainly be handed over to Babylon’s king. They will speak face to face and meet eye to eye.

你所有的后妃和你的兒女，都必被帶出來，去到迦勒底人那裡；你自己也不能從他們的手裡逃脫，因為你必被巴比倫王的手抓住；這城也必被火燒毀（“這城也必被火燒毀”有古抄本作“你必放火燒毀這城”）。”

但你若不出去歸降巴比倫王的將領，這城就必交在迦勒底人的手中；他們必放火燒毀這城，你自己也不能從他們的手裡逃脫。’”

猶大王西底家和所有的軍兵看見了他們，就逃跑，在夜間逃出城外，經過王的花園，穿過兩道城牆中間的門，直往亞拉巴的路上走去。但迦勒底人的軍隊追趕他們，在耶利哥的原野上追上了西底家，把他拿住，帶到哈馬地的利比拉去見巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒；尼布甲尼撒就宣判他的罪狀。巴比倫王在利比拉，當著西底家眼前殺了他的眾子；巴比倫王也殺了猶大所有的顯貴，並且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎了，用銅鍊鎖住他，把他帶到巴比倫去。

後來，西底家王派人去把他帶出來；王在自己的宮中私下問他，說：“從耶和華那裡有話來嗎？”耶利米回答：“有！”又說：“你必交在巴比倫王的手中。”

城終於被攻破了，所有的戰士就在夜間從靠近王的花園的兩牆中間的那門，逃跑出城。那時迦勒底人在四圍攻城；他們就往亞拉巴的方向逃走。迦勒底人的軍隊追趕王，在耶利哥的原野上把他追上了；他的全軍都離開他四散了。他們把王擒住，把他解到利比拉巴比倫王那裡；他們就宣判他的罪。他們又在西底家眼前殺了他的眾子，並且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎，然後用銅鍊鎖住他，把他帶到巴比倫去。

他從以色列王室後裔中選出一人，與他立約，叫他起誓，並且把國中那些有勢力的人擄去，使國衰微，不能再興盛，唯有謹守條約他才可以繼續存在。可是這人背叛了巴比倫王，差遣使者到埃及去，要得戰馬和大軍。他能亨通嗎？行這樣事的人，怎能逃脫呢？他破壞條約，怎能逃脫呢？我指著我的永生起誓：他藐視了自己所起的誓，背棄了與王所立的約，因此他必死在巴比倫，就是那立他作王的巴比倫王的國家。這是耶和華的宣告。敵人建造圍城的高牆，築起攻城土壘要剪除多人的時候，法老率領大軍和大隊人馬，還是不能幫助他作戰。他藐視誓言，背棄條約；他已宣誓效忠，卻又行了這一切事，所以他必不能逃脫。因此主耶和華這樣說：我指著我的永生起誓：他既然藐視我的誓言，背棄我的約，我必使這罪歸到他的頭上。我要把我的網撒在他身上，他必在我的網羅中被捕獲；我要把他帶到巴比倫去，並且要在那裡因他對我不忠的罪審判他。他軍中所有的精兵（按照《馬索拉文本》，“精兵”作“逃跑的人”；現參照其他抄本、《七十士譯本》和其他古譯本翻譯），都必倒在刀下；剩下的也必分散到四方；你們就知道說這話的是我耶和華。

迦勒底人的軍隊追趕，在耶利哥的原野上把西底家追上了；他的全軍都離開他四散了。他們把王擒住，把他解到哈馬地的利比拉巴比倫王那裡；他就宣判他的罪。巴比倫王在利比拉，當著西底家眼前殺了他的眾子，也殺了猶大所有的領袖，並且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎，然後用銅鍊鎖住他。巴比倫王把他帶到巴比倫去，關在牢裡，直到他去世的日子。

你這該死、邪惡的以色列王啊！你的日子到了，最後懲罰的時刻到了。’主耶和華這樣說：‘你當除去頭巾，脫下冠冕！現在情形不同了，卑微的要升高，位高的要降卑！

他們中間的君王必在天黑的時候，把東西扛在肩頭上，從他們挖穿的牆帶出去；他必蒙住自己的臉，不能看見這地。我要把我的網撒在他身上，他必被我的網羅網住；我要把他帶到巴比倫，就是迦勒底人之地；他不會看見那地，卻要死在那裡。
