“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel:‘ Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah and tell him,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.And you shall not escape from his hand, but shall surely be taken and delivered into his hand; your eyes shall see the eyes of the king of Babylon, he shall speak with you face to face, and you shall go to Babylon.’”’

He shall not spare them, or have pity or mercy.”’

Now it happened, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying,“ You will surely die!Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying,‘ This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without an inhabitant’?” And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.
