The Babylonians who are attacking this city will come in and set it on fire; they will burn it down, along with the houses where the people aroused my anger by burning incense on the roofs to Baal and by pouring out drink offerings to other gods.

The armies of Babylon are now attacking this city. They will come in and set it on fire. They will burn it down. They will burn down the houses where the people made me very angry. They burned incense on their roofs to the god named Baal. And they poured out drink offerings to other gods.

The Chaldeans who are fighting against this city shall come and set this city on fire and burn it, with the houses on whose roofs offerings have been made to Baal and drink offerings have been poured out to other gods, to provoke me to anger.

以色列的上帝——萬軍之耶和華說，『你們和你們的妻子曾許願向天后燒香奠酒，並且身體力行。你們繼續還所許的願吧！』

孩子拾柴，父親點火，婦人揉麵做餅向天后獻祭，向別的神明奠酒，惹我發怒。

迦勒底人放火焚燒王宮和民居，拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆。

「這是以色列的上帝耶和華的話，『猶大王派你們來求問我，你們告訴他，前來支援你們的法老軍隊必中途返回埃及，而迦勒底人必捲土重來，攻佔這城，將它付之一炬。耶和華說，你們不要自欺，以為迦勒底人必撤軍。其實他們不會撤軍。即使你們能打敗迦勒底全軍，他們營中受傷的殘兵也必起來燒毀這城。』」

王大怒，派軍隊去剿滅凶手，燒毀他們的城。

耶和華大發烈怒，傾倒祂的怒氣，在錫安燃起大火，焚毀城的根基。

放火焚燒耶和華的殿、王宮及城內所有的房屋。他燒毀了所有重要建築。

你的眾聖城已淪為荒場，甚至錫安已淪為荒場，耶路撒冷已淪為廢墟。我們那聖潔、華美的殿——我們祖先頌讚你的地方已被焚毀，我們珍愛的一切都被摧毀。

如果哪一邦或哪一國不肯臣服於巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，不肯負巴比倫王的軛，我必用戰爭、饑荒和瘟疫懲罰他們，直到我藉巴比倫王的手毀滅他們。這是耶和華說的。你們不可聽信你們的先知、占卜者、解夢者、巫師和術士的話，他們說巴比倫王不會征服你們。他們的預言是騙人的，只會使你們遠離家園。我會趕走你們，使你們滅亡。

但如果你們不聽我的話，不守安息日為聖日，仍在安息日運貨物進耶路撒冷的城門，我必在各城門點起無法撲滅的大火，燒毀耶路撒冷的宮殿。』」
