在我叔之子哈拿篾、與書名於契之證人、及坐於獄院之諸猶大人目前、付於瑪西雅孫、尼利亞子巴錄、

and I gave this deed to Baruch son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the presence of my cousin Hanamel and of the witnesses who had signed the deed and of all the Jews sitting in the courtyard of the guard.

I gave Baruch the copies of the deed. My cousin Hanamel saw me do this. The witnesses who had signed the deed were there too. So were all the Jews who were sitting in the courtyard of the guard. Baruch was the son of Neriah. Neriah was the son of Mahseiah.

And I gave the deed of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah son of Mahseiah, in the presence of Hanamel my cousin, in the presence of the witnesses who signed the deed of purchase, and in the presence of all the Judeans who were sitting in the court of the guard.

and I handed them to Baruch son of Neriah and grandson of Mahseiah. I did all this in the presence of my cousin Hanamel, the witnesses who had signed the deed, and all the men of Judah who were there in the courtyard of the guardhouse.

and gave the purchase agreement to Baruch son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah. I did this in the sight of my cousin Hanamel, the witnesses who had signed the purchase agreement, and all the Judeans sitting in the guard’s courtyard.

and I gave the deed of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the sight of Hanamel my uncle’s son and in the sight of the witnesses who signed the deed of purchase, in the sight of all the Jews who were sitting in the courtyard of the guard.

and I gave the purchase deed to Baruch the son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah, in the presence of Hanamel my uncle’s son, and in the presence of the witnesses who signed the purchase deed, before all the Jews who sat in the court of the prison.

and I delivered the deed of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the presence of Hanamel mine uncle’s son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the deed of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the guard.

and gave the purchase agreement to Baruch son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah. I did this in the sight of my cousin Hanamel, the witnesses who were signing the purchase agreement, and all the Judeans sitting in the guard’s courtyard.

And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle’s[ son], and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.

I took both copies of the deed of purchase and gave them to Baruch son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah. I gave them to him in the presence of my cousin Hanamel, the witnesses who had signed the deed of purchase, and all the Judeans who were housed in the courtyard of the guardhouse.

and I delivered the deed of the purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the presence of Hanamel my uncle’s son, and in the presence of the witnesses who signed the deed of the purchase, before all the Jews who sat in the court of the guard.

我把地契交給尼利亞的兒子巴錄之後，便向耶和華禱告說：

耶利米把所有將要發生在巴比倫的災禍，就是有關巴比倫的事都寫在卷軸上。猶大王西底迦執政第四年，瑪西雅的孫子、尼利亞的兒子、宮廷總管西萊雅和猶大王一同前往巴比倫的時候，

耶利米就叫來尼利亞的兒子巴錄。巴錄按耶利米的口述把耶和華的話寫在卷軸上，耶利米對他說：「我被囚禁，不能進入耶和華的殿，

還命令自己的兒子耶拉篾、亞斯列的兒子西萊雅和亞伯德的兒子示利米雅去拘捕書記巴錄和耶利米先知。但耶和華把他們藏了起來。

他們聽後嚇得面面相覷，對巴錄說：「我們必須把這些話稟告王！請告訴我們，你是怎麼寫下這些話的？是耶利米口授的嗎？」巴錄說：「是耶利米口授、我記錄在卷軸上的。」他們說：「你和耶利米都要藏起來，不可讓人知道你們在哪裡。」

於是，耶利米又拿了一個卷軸，交給尼利亞的兒子書記巴錄，他按耶利米的口述，把猶大王約雅敬燒毀的那卷軸上的話都記下來，還增添了許多類似的話。

是尼利亞的兒子巴錄慫恿你反對我們，好叫我們落在迦勒底人手中，任由他們宰殺或擄到巴比倫。」於是，加利亞的兒子約哈難和眾將領及民眾都不聽從耶和華讓他們留在猶大的命令。加利亞的兒子約哈難和眾將領率領民眾下到埃及的答比匿。民眾中有流亡到各國又返回猶大的餘民和護衛長尼布撒拉旦留給沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利管理的男女婦孺、公主以及耶利米先知和尼利亞的兒子巴錄。他們沒有聽從耶和華的命令。

猶大王約西亞的兒子約雅敬執政第四年，尼利亞的兒子巴錄把耶利米口述的話寫在書卷上。耶利米說：「巴錄啊，以色列的上帝耶和華說，『你曾說，我真悲慘！因為耶和華使我痛上加痛，呻吟不止，身心疲憊，不得安寧。』我要告訴你，耶和華說，『我必在整個大地上拆毀我所建立的，剷除我所栽培的。你想為自己謀求大事嗎？不要謀求，因為我要給世人降下災禍。但不論你到哪裡，我必使你保住性命。這是耶和華說的。』」

無論在主面前或在人面前，我們務求行事為人光明磊落。
