Just as I watched over them to uproot and tear down, and to overthrow, destroy and bring disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant,” declares the Lord.

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot what was planted;A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

I will indeed see to it that disaster, not prosperity, happens to them. All the people of Judah who are in the land of Egypt will die in war or from starvation until not one of them is left.

The LORD told Jeremiah,“ Tell Baruch,‘ The LORD says,“ I am about to tear down what I have built and to uproot what I have planted. I will do this throughout the whole earth.

I will take delight in doing good to them. I will faithfully and wholeheartedly plant them firmly in the land.’

There are times, Jeremiah, when I threaten to uproot, tear down, and destroy a nation or kingdom.But if that nation I threatened stops doing wrong, I will cancel the destruction I intended to do to it.And there are times when I promise to build up and establish a nation or kingdom.

The LORD was mindful of the calamity, and he brought it on us. For the LORD our God is just in all he has done, and we have not obeyed him.

“ In that day I will rebuild the collapsing hut of David. I will seal its gaps, repair its ruins, and restore it to what it was like in days gone by.

‘ After this I will return, and I will rebuild the fallen tent of David; I will rebuild its ruins and restore it,

For God will deliver Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah, and his people will again live in them and possess Zion.

The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem, and gathers the exiles of Israel.

So know and understand: From the issuing of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until an anointed one, a prince arrives, there will be a period of seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will again be built, with plaza and moat, but in distressful times.
