[ Is] Ephraim my dear son?[ is he] a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

永恆主發神諭說：以法蓮是我的寶貝兒子麼？是個可喜悅的孩子麼？因為我每逢說了話譴責他，我總還是依依懷念着他。我的心腸熱戀着他；我一定要憐憫他。

以法蓮為我之愛子乎、為可悅之子乎、我每言及、則深念之、心為之動、我必矜恤之、耶和華言之矣、○

耶和華曰、以法蓮豈非我之赤子、我所眷愛者哉、予責之、輒生憐念、予矜憫為懷、復加以撫恤。

以法蓮豈非我之愛子、我所悅之赤子乎、我一言之、即顧念之、我心腸為之發矜恤、復加憐憫、此乃主所言、○

Is not Ephraim my dear son, the child in whom I delight? Though I often speak against him, I still remember him. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I have great compassion for him,” declares the Lord.

Aren’t the people of Ephraim my dear children? Aren’t they the children I take delight in? I often speak against them. But I still remember them. So my heart longs for them. I love them with a tender love,” announces the Lord.

Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he my darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do remember him still. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, declares the Lord.

“ Is not Israel still my son, my darling child?” says the Lord.“ I often have to punish him, but I still love him. That’s why I long for him and surely will have mercy on him.

Isn’t Ephraim a precious son to me, a delightful child? Whenever I speak against him, I certainly still think about him. Therefore, my inner being yearns for him; I will truly have compassion on him. This is the LORD’s declaration.

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where[ is] thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?

I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.

Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kirharesh.

My beloved put in his hand by the hole[ of the door], and my bowels were moved for him.

For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

For the Lord will not cast off for ever:But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim[ is] my firstborn.

For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that[ their] power is gone, and[ there is] none shut up, or left.

But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.

Who[ is] a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth[ in] mercy.He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Like as a father pitieth[ his] children,[ so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought[ where] to weep; and he entered into[ his] chamber, and wept there.

How shall I give thee up, Ephraim?[ how] shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah?[ how] shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I[ am] God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.

Then spake the woman whose the living child[ was] unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine,[ but] divide[ it].

For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son[ in whom] he delighteth.

Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kirheres: because the riches[ that] he hath gotten are perished.

For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls[ which] I have made.For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.

It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
