Thus saith the LORD, The people[ which were] left of the sword found grace in the wilderness;[ even] Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

耶和华如此说：“脱离刀剑的就是以色列人。我使他享安息的时候，他曾在旷野蒙恩。

耶和华如此说：“从刀剑生还的百姓在旷野蒙恩；以色列寻找安歇之处。”

“逃脱刀兵之灾的以色列人必在旷野蒙恩，找到安息之所。这是耶和华说的。”

耶和華曰、以色列免於鋒刃之遺民、在我往錫綏安之際、乃蒙恩寵於曠野、

耶和華又曰、以色列族免鋒刃、遜於荒、沾我鴻恩、歸於福地、

主如是云、昔以色列民得脫鋒刃、適於曠野、蒙我恩寵、我與偕行、使之安息、

This is what the Lord says:“ The people who survive the sword will find favor in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel.”

The Lord says,“ Some of my people will live through everything their enemies do to them. They will find help in the desert. I will come to give peace and rest to Israel.”

Thus says the Lord:“ The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest,

This is what the Lord says:“ Those who survive the coming destruction will find blessings even in the barren land, for I will give rest to the people of Israel.”

This is what the LORD says: The people who survived the sword found favor in the wilderness. When Israel went to find rest,

This is what the Lord says:“ The people who survived the sword Found grace in the wilderness— Israel, when it went to find its rest.”

Thus says the Lord:“ The people who survived the sword Found grace in the wilderness— Israel, when I went to give him rest.”

Thus saith Jehovah, The people that were left of the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

This is what the Lord says: They found favor in the wilderness— the people who survived the sword. When Israel went to find rest,

The LORD says,“ The people of Israel who survived death at the hands of the enemy will find favor in the wilderness as they journey to find rest for themselves.

Yahweh says,“ The people who survive the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.”

Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents[ in], in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.

Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

Come unto me, all[ ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD,[ and] the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.For he said, Surely they[ are] my people, children[ that] will not lie: so he was their Saviour.In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy,[ and] he fought against them.Then he remembered the days of old, Moses,[ and] his people,[ saying], Where[ is] he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where[ is] he that put his holy Spirit within him?That led[ them] by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness,[ that] they should not stumble?As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.

For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God[ hath been] with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

And he said, My presence shall go[ with thee], and I will give thee rest.

To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever.To him which smote great kings: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:And slew famous kings: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:[ Even] an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever.Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever.

He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and[ there was] not one feeble[ person] among their tribes.Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.[ The people] asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places[ like] a river.For he remembered his holy promise,[ and] Abraham his servant.And he brought forth his people with joy,[ and] his chosen with gladness:

For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.

The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;

In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave[ them] drink as[ out of] the great depths.He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.

But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given[ them], flowing with milk and honey, which[ is] the glory of all lands;Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness.

Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:

And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee,[ and] to prove thee, to know what[ was] in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every[ word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot[ that were] men, beside children.

Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land[ that was] not sown.

Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.But Moses’ hands[ were] heavy; and they took a stone, and put[ it] under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses[ and] chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.And they said unto Moses, Because[ there were] no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?[ Is] not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For[ it had been] better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.

And they said unto them, The LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.

Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full.He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea:And he let[ it] fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;

Moreover thou leddest them in the day by a cloudy pillar; and in the night by a pillar of fire, to give them light in the way wherein they should go.Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.

But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see[ them] upon the stools; if it[ be] a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it[ be] a daughter, then she shall live.
