爾試訪察、男產子乎、我見人各以手支腰、若臨產之婦、面呈灰色、此何故耶、

男子產育、未之有也、今見男子手捧腹、色乍青、若將產之婦、誠何故與。

Ask and see: Can a man bear children? Then why do I see every strong man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor, every face turned deathly pale?

Ask and see. Can a man give birth to children? Then why do I see every strong man with his hands on his stomach? Each of them is acting like a woman having a baby. Every face is as pale as death.

Ask now, and see, can a man bear a child? Why then do I see every man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor? Why has every face turned pale?

Now let me ask you a question: Do men give birth to babies? Then why do they stand there, ashen faced, hands pressed against their sides like a woman in labor?

Ask and see whether a male can give birth. Why then do I see every man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor and every face turned pale?

Ask now, and see If a male can give birth. Why do I see every man With his hands on his waist, as a woman in childbirth? And why have all faces turned pale?

Ask now, and see, Whether a man is ever in labor with child? So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins Like a woman in labor, And all faces turned pale?

Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child: wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

Ask and see whether a male can give birth. Why then do I see every man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor and every face turned pale?

Ask yourselves this and consider it carefully: Have you ever seen a man give birth to a baby? Why then do I see all these strong men grabbing their stomachs in pain like a woman giving birth? And why do their faces turn so deathly pale?

Ask now, and see whether a man travails with child. Why do I see every man with his hands on his waist, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned pale?

現在卻空虛、荒涼，一無所有；人心驚惶，兩膝發抖，全身疼痛，面無血色。

在他們面前，萬民苦惱，人人臉紅耳赤。

我聽到好像婦人產痛的叫聲，正像生頭胎孩子的婦人疼痛的叫聲，就是錫安居民（“居民”原文作“女子”）的聲音，他們喘著氣，伸開雙手，說：“哎！我有禍了！在那些殺人者跟前，我發昏了！”

生產的疼痛要臨到他身上，他卻是沒有智慧的人，因為產期到了，他還遲延不破胎而出。

我們聽到有關他們的消息，手就發軟；痛苦緊緊抓住我們，我們疼痛好像正在生產的婦人。

他們在那裡戰慄恐懼；他們痛苦好像婦人分娩時一樣。

因此，我滿腰疼痛，痛苦抓住我，好像產婦的痛苦一樣；我絞痛彎腰至聽不見，我驚惶至看不到。

住在黎巴嫩，在香柏林中搭窩的啊！有痛苦臨到你，像產婦劇痛的時候，你要怎樣呻吟呢？”

人正在說平安穩妥的時候，毀滅性的災禍就突然臨到他們，好像生產的痛苦臨到懷胎的婦人一樣，他們絕不能逃脫。

婦人生產的時候會有憂愁，因為她的時候到了；但生了孩子以後，就不再記住那痛苦了，因為歡喜有一個人生到世上來。現在你們也有憂愁；但我要再見你們，你們的心就會喜樂，你們的喜樂是沒有人能夠奪去的。

哀號吧！因為耶和華的日子近了，這日子來到，好像毀滅從全能者那裡來到一樣。因此，各人的手都必發軟，各人也必心驚膽戰。他們都要驚惶失措，疼痛與痛苦必抓住他們；他們必絞痛，像生產中的婦人一樣。他們在驚愕中彼此對望，面色像火燄一般。看哪！耶和華的日子快來到，必有殘忍、憤恨與烈怒，使這地荒涼，使其中的罪人滅絕。

因此，曾經救贖亞伯拉罕的耶和華，論到雅各家時，這樣說：“雅各今後必不再羞愧，他的面容也不再變為蒼白，

巴比倫王聽了有關他們的消息，手就發軟；痛苦緊緊抓住他，他疼痛好像正在生產的婦人。

現在你為甚麼大聲呼喊？難道你們中間沒有君王嗎？或是你的謀士滅亡了，以致疼痛抓緊你，好像臨產的婦人呢？錫安的女子啊！你要疼痛劬勞，好像臨產的婦人；因為現在你要從城裡出來，住在田野，一定要到巴比倫去；在那裡你要蒙拯救，在那裡耶和華必救贖你，脫離仇敵的掌握。

就臉色大變，心意驚惶，兩腳無力，雙膝彼此相碰。

大馬士革失去勇氣，轉身逃跑；但恐慌抓住它，憂慮痛苦把它捉住，像正在生產的婦人的痛苦一樣。

耶和華立你自己結交（“結交”原文作“教導”）的盟友為首領管轄你，那時，你還有甚麼話說呢？痛苦豈不把你抓住，好像婦女生產時的痛苦一樣嗎？
