Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote on it at the instruction of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire. And besides, there were added to them many similar words.

“ Take a scroll of a book and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day.It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the adversities which I purpose to bring upon them, that everyone may turn from his evil way, that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.”Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote on a scroll of a book, at the instruction of Jeremiah, all the words of the Lord which He had spoken to him.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.”

Therefore Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the children of Israel.Then He inaugurated Joshua the son of Nun, and said,“ Be strong and of good courage; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land of which I swore to them, and I will be with you.”So it was, when Moses had completed writing the words of this law in a book, when they were finished,that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying:“ Take this Book of the Law, and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there as a witness against you;for I know your rebellion and your stiff neck. If today, while I am yet alive with you, you have been rebellious against the Lord, then how much more after my death?

“ Oh, that my words were written! Oh, that they were inscribed in a book!That they were engraved on a rock With an iron pen and lead, forever!

saying,“ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and,“ What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”

for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that would come upon Babylon, all these words that are written against Babylon.And Jeremiah said to Seraiah,“ When you arrive in Babylon and see it, and read all these words,then you shall say,‘ O Lord, You have spoken against this place to cut it off, so that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but it shall be desolate forever.’Now it shall be, when you have finished reading this book, that you shall tie a stone to it and throw it out into the Euphrates.Then you shall say,‘ Thus Babylon shall sink and not rise from the catastrophe that I will bring upon her. And they shall be weary.’” Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.

Moreover the Lord said to me,“ Take a large scroll, and write on it with a man’s pen concerning Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz.

Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

“ Now therefore, write down this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel; put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for Me against the children of Israel.
