“ I am the Lord. I am the God of Israel. I say,‘ Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you.

我所告爾者、筆之於書。

主以色列之天主如是云、我所諭爾之言、筆之於書、

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:‘ Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you.

“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Write in a book all the words that I have spoken to you.

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Write down for the record everything I have said to you, Jeremiah.

“ This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Write on a scroll all the words that I have spoken to you,

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says:‘ Write all the words which I have spoken to you in a book.

“ Thus speaks the Lord God of Israel, saying:‘ Write in a book for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you.

Thus speaketh Jehovah, the God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:“ Write down on a scroll all the words that I have spoken to you,

Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

“ The LORD God of Israel says,‘ Write everything that I am about to tell you in a scroll.

“ Yahweh, the God of Israel, says,‘ Write all the words that I have spoken to you in a book.

The Lord said to me,“ Go now. Write on a tablet for the people of Judah what I am about to say. Also write it on a scroll. In days to come it will be a witness that lasts forever.

So Jeremiah got another scroll. He gave it to Baruch the secretary. He was the son of Neriah. Jeremiah told Baruch what to write on it. Baruch wrote down all the words that were on the scroll King Jehoiakim had burned up in the fire. And many more words were written on it. They were similar to those that had already been written.

“ Get a scroll. Write on it all the words I have spoken to you. Write down what I have said about Israel, Judah and all the other nations. Write what I have said to you from the time of King Josiah until now.The people of Judah will hear about all the trouble I plan to bring on them. Maybe then each of them will turn from their evil ways. If they do, I will forgive their sins and the evil things they have done.”So Jeremiah sent for Baruch, the son of Neriah. Jeremiah told him to write down all the words the Lord had spoken to him. And Baruch wrote them on the scroll.

But I want you to roll up this scroll, Daniel. Seal it until the time of the end. Many people will go here and there to increase their knowledge.”

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ This is something to be remembered. So write it on a scroll. Make sure Joshua knows you have done it. I will completely erase the memory of the Amalekites from the earth.”

“ So write down what you have seen. Write about what is happening now and what will happen later.

The Lord replies,“ Write down the message I am giving you. Write it clearly on the tablets you use. Then a messenger can read it and run to announce it.The message I give you waits for the time I have appointed. It speaks about what is going to happen. And all of it will come true. It might take a while. But wait for it. You can be sure it will come. It will happen when I want it to.

So that day Moses wrote the song down. And Moses taught it to the Israelites.The Lord gave a command to Joshua, the son of Nun. He said,“ Be strong and brave. You will bring the Israelites into the land I promised them. I myself will be with you.”Moses finished writing the words of this law in a book. He wrote them down from beginning to end.Then he gave a command to the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord. Moses said,“ Take this Book of the Law. Place it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God. It will remain there as a witness against you.I know how you refuse to obey the Lord. I know how stubborn you are. You have refused to obey him while I’ve been living among you. So you will certainly refuse to obey him after I’m dead!

“ I wish my words were written down! I wish they were written in a book!I wish they were cut into lead with an iron tool! I wish they were carved in rock forever!

The voice said,“ Write on a scroll what you see. Send it to the seven churches in Asia Minor. They are Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”

Prophecy never came simply because a prophet wanted it to. Instead, the Holy Spirit guided the prophets as they spoke. So, although prophets are human, prophecy comes from God.

Jeremiah had written about all the trouble that would come on Babylon. He had written it down on a scroll. It included everything that had been recorded about Babylon.Jeremiah said to Seraiah,“ When you get to Babylon, here’s what I want you to do. Make sure that you read all these words out loud.Then say,‘ Lord, you have said you will destroy this place. You have said that no people or animals will live here. It will be empty forever.’Finish reading the scroll. Tie a stone to it. Throw it into the Euphrates River.Then say,‘ In the same way, Babylon will sink down. It will never rise again. That is because I will bring such horrible trouble on it. And its people will fall along with it.’ ” The words of Jeremiah end here.

The Lord said to me,“ Get a large sheet of paper. Write‘ Maher- Shalal- Hash- Baz’ on it with a pen.”

Those things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us. That’s because we are living at the time when God’s work is being completed.

Everything written in the past was written to teach us. The Scriptures give us strength to go on. They encourage us and give us hope.

“ I want you to write down a song and teach it to the Israelites. Have them sing it. It will be my witness against them.
