The Lord says,“ I will bless Jacob’s people with great success again. I will show tender love to Israel. Jerusalem will be rebuilt where it was destroyed. The palace will stand in its proper place.

“ Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob and have compassion on his dwellings; the city shall be rebuilt on its mound, and the palace shall stand where it used to be.

This is what the Lord says:“ When I bring Israel home again from captivity and restore their fortunes, Jerusalem will be rebuilt on its ruins, and the palace reconstructed as before.

This is what the LORD says: I will certainly restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents and show compassion on his dwellings. Every city will be rebuilt on its mound; every citadel will stand on its proper site.

“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Behold, I will bring back the captivity of Jacob’s tents, And have mercy on his dwelling places; The city shall be built upon its own mound, And the palace shall remain according to its own plan.

Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will turn again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have compassion on his dwelling- places; and the city shall be builded upon its own hill, and the palace shall be inhabited after its own manner.

This is what the Lord says: I will certainly restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents and show compassion on his dwellings. Every city will be rebuilt on its mound; every citadel will stand on its proper site.

Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

The LORD says,“ I will restore the ruined houses of the descendants of Jacob. I will show compassion on their ruined homes. Every city will be rebuilt on its former ruins. Every fortified dwelling will occupy its traditional site.

Yahweh says:“ Behold, I will reverse the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have compassion on his dwelling places. The city will be built on its own hill, and the palace will be inhabited in its own place.

I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the wealth of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord of armies.‘ The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares the Lord of armies.‘ The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of armies,‘ and in this place I will give peace,’ declares the Lord of armies.”

You will arise and have compassion on Zion; For it is time to be gracious to her, For the appointed time has come.

For behold, days are coming,’ declares the Lord,‘ when I will restore the fortunes of My people Israel and Judah.’ The Lord says,‘ I will also bring them back to the land that I gave to their forefathers, and they shall take possession of it.’ ”

And I will restore the fortunes of Judah and the fortunes of Israel, and will rebuild them as they were at first.

‘ But it will come about in the last days That I will restore the fortunes of Elam,’ ” Declares the Lord.

“ Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their pasture, and they will be fruitful and multiply.

Therefore the Lord says this:“ I will return to Jerusalem with compassion; My house will be built in it,” declares the Lord of armies,“ and a measuring line will be stretched over Jerusalem.” ’

But afterward I will restore The fortunes of the sons of Ammon,” Declares the Lord.

“ But as for you, Jacob My servant, do not fear, Nor be dismayed, Israel! For, see, I am going to save you from far away, And your descendants from the land of their captivity; And Jacob will return and be undisturbed And secure, with no one making him afraid.

Confirming the word of His servant And carrying out the purpose of His messengers. It is I who says of Jerusalem,‘ She shall be inhabited!’ And of the cities of Judah,‘ They shall be built.’ And I will raise her ruins again.

I will build you again and you will be rebuilt, Virgin of Israel! You will take up your tambourines again, And go out to the dances of the revelers.

the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who say,“ Give thanks to the Lord of armies, For the Lord is good, For His mercy is everlasting,” as they bring a thanksgiving offering into the house of the Lord. For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were at first,’ says the Lord.

and give my son Solomon a perfect heart to keep Your commandments, Your testimonies, and Your statutes, and to do them all, and to build the temple for which I have made provision.”

“ Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ when the city will be rebuilt for the Lord from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate.

It is I who says of Cyrus,‘ He is My shepherd, And he will carry out all My desire.’ And he says of Jerusalem,‘ She will be built,’ And of the temple,‘ Your foundation will be laid.’ ”

I will let Myself be found by you,’ declares the Lord,‘ and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you,’ declares the Lord,‘ and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.’

Lord, You showed favor to Your land; You restored the fortunes of Jacob.

This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says:“ Once again they will speak this word in the land of Judah and in its cities when I restore their fortunes,‘ The Lord bless you, O place of righteousness, O holy hill!’

And He built His sanctuary like the heights, Like the earth which He has established forever.

“ On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot among pieces of wood and a flaming torch among sheaves, so they will consume on the right and on the left all the surrounding peoples, while the inhabitants of Jerusalem again live on their own sites in Jerusalem.

Now the city was large and spacious, but the people in it were few and the houses were not built.

In the first year of King Cyrus, Cyrus the king issued a decree:‘ Concerning the house of God in Jerusalem, let the temple, the place where sacrifices are offered, be rebuilt, and let its foundations be repaired, its height being sixty cubits and its width sixty cubits,with three layers of large stones and one layer of timber. And the cost is to be paid from the royal treasury.Also the gold and silver utensils of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took from the temple in Jerusalem and brought to Babylon, are to be returned and brought to their places in the temple in Jerusalem; and you shall put them in the house of God.’“ Now as for you, Tattenai, governor of the province beyond the Euphrates River, Shethar bozenai, and your colleagues, the officials of the provinces beyond the River, stay away from there.Leave that work on the house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews rebuild that house of God on its site.Furthermore, I issue a decree concerning what you are to do for these elders of Judah in the rebuilding of that house of God: the full cost is to be paid to those people from the royal treasury out of the taxes of the provinces beyond the Euphrates River, and that without interruption.And whatever is needed, bulls, rams, and lambs for burnt offerings to the God of heaven, and wheat, salt, wine, and anointing oil, as the priests in Jerusalem order, it is to be given to them daily without fail,so that they may offer acceptable sacrifices to the God of heaven and pray for the lives of the king and his sons.And I issued a decree that any person who violates this decree, a timber shall be pulled out of his house and he shall be impaled on it; and his house shall be turned into a refuse heap on account of this.May the God who has caused His name to dwell there overthrow any king or people who attempts to change it, so as to destroy that house of God in Jerusalem. I, Darius, have issued this decree; it is to be carried out with all diligence!”Then Tattenai, the governor of the province beyond the Euphrates River, Shethar bozenai, and their colleagues carried out the decree with all diligence, just as King Darius had ordered.And the elders of the Jews were successful in building through the prophecy of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they finished building following the command of the God of Israel and the decree of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.Now this temple was completed on the third day of the month Adar; it was the sixth year of the reign of King Darius.

Moreover, they transformed the splendor of His jewels into pride, and they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things with it; therefore I will make it an abhorrent thing to them.And I will hand it over to the foreigners as plunder, and to the wicked of the earth as spoils; and they will profane it.I will also turn My face away from them, and they will profane My treasure; then robbers will enter and profane it.

And the entire valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the brook Kidron to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the Lord; it will not be uprooted or overthrown ever again.”

Then King David said to the entire assembly,“ My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and inexperienced, and the work is great; for the temple is not for mankind, but for the Lord God.

All the land will change into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but Jerusalem will rise and remain on its site from Benjamin’s Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses.

Then Eliashib the high priest arose with his brothers the priests and built the Sheep Gate; they consecrated it and installed its doors. They consecrated the wall to the Tower of the Hundred and the Tower of Hananel.And next to him the men of Jericho built, and next to them Zaccur the son of Imri built.Now the sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate; they laid its beams and installed its doors with its bolts and bars.Next to them Meremoth the son of Uriah the son of Hakkoz made repairs. And next to him Meshullam the son of Berechiah the son of Meshezabel made repairs. And next to him Zadok the son of Baana also made repairs.Moreover, next to him the Tekoites made repairs, but their nobles did not support the work of their masters.Now Joiada the son of Paseah and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah repaired the Ancient Gate; they laid its beams and installed its doors with its bolts and its bars.Next to them Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, also made repairs for the official seat of the governor of the province beyond the Euphrates River.Next to him Uzziel the son of Harhaiah of the goldsmiths made repairs. And next to him Hananiah, one of the perfumers, made repairs, and they restored Jerusalem as far as the Broad Wall.And next to them Rephaiah the son of Hur, the official of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs.Next to them Jedaiah the son of Harumaph made repairs opposite his house. And next to him Hattush the son of Hashabneiah made repairs.Malchijah the son of Harim and Hasshub the son of Pahath moab repaired another section and the Tower of Furnaces.Next to him Shallum the son of Hallohesh, the official of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs, he and his daughters.Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired the Valley Gate. They built it and installed its doors with its bolts and its bars, and a thousand cubits of the wall to the Dung Gate.And Malchijah the son of Rechab, the official of the district of Beth haccherem repaired the Dung Gate. He built it and installed its doors with its bolts and its bars.Shallum the son of Col hozeh, the official of the district of Mizpah, repaired the Fountain Gate. He built it, made a roof for it, and installed its doors with its bolts and its bars, and the wall of the Pool of Shelah at the king’s garden as far as the steps that descend from the city of David.After him Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, official of half the district of Beth zur, made repairs as far as a point opposite the tombs of David, and as far as the artificial pool and the house of the mighty men.After him the Levites carried out repairs under Rehum the son of Bani. Next to him Hashabiah, the official of half the district of Keilah, carried out repairs for his district.After him their brothers carried out repairs under Bavvai the son of Henadad, official of the other half of the district of Keilah.And next to him Ezer the son of Jeshua, the official of Mizpah, repaired another section in front of the ascent of the armory at the Angle.After him Baruch the son of Zabbai zealously repaired another section, from the Angle to the doorway of the house of Eliashib the high priest.After him Meremoth the son of Uriah the son of Hakkoz repaired another section, from the doorway of Eliashib’s house even as far as the end of his house.And after him the priests, the men of the vicinity, carried out repairs.After them Benjamin and Hasshub carried out repairs in front of their house. After them Azariah the son of Maaseiah, son of Ananiah, carried out repairs beside his house.After him Binnui the son of Henadad repaired another section, from the house of Azariah as far as the Angle and as far as the corner.Palal the son of Uzai made repairs in front of the Angle and the tower projecting from the upper house of the king, which is by the courtyard of the guard. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh made repairs.Now the temple servants living in Ophel made repairs as far as the front of the Water Gate toward the east and the projecting tower.After them the Tekoites repaired another section in front of the great projecting tower and as far as the wall of Ophel.Above the Horse Gate the priests carried out repairs, each in front of his house.After them Zadok the son of Immer carried out repairs in front of his house. And after him Shemaiah the son of Shecaniah, the keeper of the East Gate, carried out repairs.After him Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, repaired another section. After him Meshullam the son of Berechiah carried out repairs in front of his own quarters.After him Malchijah, one of the goldsmiths, carried out repairs as far as the house of the temple servants and of the merchants, in front of the Inspection Gate and as far as the upper room of the corner.And between the upper room of the corner and the Sheep Gate the goldsmiths and the merchants carried out repairs.
