Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

耶和华如此说：“我必使雅各被掳去的帐棚归回，也必顾惜他的住处。城必建造在原旧的山冈；宫殿也照旧有人居住。

耶和華曰、雅各被虜之幕、我必返之、而顧惜其居所、其邑必復建於故山、宮室如初有人居處、

耶和華又曰雅各幕見虜、余將返之、矜憫其宅、城邑雖成瓦礫、必復建造、宮闕雖已荒圮、必復其初、

主如是云、雅各幕之見擄者、我將返之、顧惜其居所、城必復建於故岡、宮殿必如初有人居處、

“ This is what the Lord says:“‘ I will restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents and have compassion on his dwellings; the city will be rebuilt on her ruins, and the palace will stand in its proper place.

The Lord says,“ I will bless Jacob’s people with great success again. I will show tender love to Israel. Jerusalem will be rebuilt where it was destroyed. The palace will stand in its proper place.

“ Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob and have compassion on his dwellings; the city shall be rebuilt on its mound, and the palace shall stand where it used to be.

This is what the Lord says:“ When I bring Israel home again from captivity and restore their fortunes, Jerusalem will be rebuilt on its ruins, and the palace reconstructed as before.

This is what the LORD says: I will certainly restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents and show compassion on his dwellings. Every city will be rebuilt on its mound; every citadel will stand on its proper site.

“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob And have compassion on his dwellings; And the city will be rebuilt on its ruins, And the palace will stand on its rightful place.

“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Behold, I will bring back the captivity of Jacob’s tents, And have mercy on his dwelling places; The city shall be built upon its own mound, And the palace shall remain according to its own plan.

Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will turn again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have compassion on his dwelling- places; and the city shall be builded upon its own hill, and the palace shall be inhabited after its own manner.

This is what the Lord says: I will certainly restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents and show compassion on his dwellings. Every city will be rebuilt on its mound; every citadel will stand on its proper site.

The LORD says,“ I will restore the ruined houses of the descendants of Jacob. I will show compassion on their ruined homes. Every city will be rebuilt on its former ruins. Every fortified dwelling will occupy its traditional site.

Yahweh says:“ Behold, I will reverse the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have compassion on his dwelling places. The city will be built on its own hill, and the palace will be inhabited in its own place.

And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.The silver[ is] mine, and the gold[ is] mine, saith the LORD of hosts.The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

Thou shalt arise,[ and] have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.

But it shall come to pass in the latter days,[ that] I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.

And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.

And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.

But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make[ him] afraid.

That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:

Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD[ is] good; for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:[ and] of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.

And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all[ these things], and to build the palace,[ for] the which I have made provision.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.

That saith of Cyrus,[ He is] my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.

And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice,[ and] mountain of holiness.

And he built his sanctuary like high[ palaces], like the earth which he hath established for ever.

In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place,[ even] in Jerusalem.

Now the city[ was] large and great: but the people[ were] few therein, and the houses[ were] not builded.

In the first year of Cyrus the king[ the same] Cyrus the king made a decree[ concerning] the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits,[ and] the breadth thereof threescore cubits;[ With] three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king’s house:And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which[ is] at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which[ is] at Jerusalem,[ every one] to his place, and place[ them] in the house of God.Now[ therefore], Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shetharboznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, which[ are] beyond the river, be ye far from thence:Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in his place.Moreover I make a decree what ye shall do to the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king’s goods,[ even] of the tribute beyond the river, forthwith expenses be given unto these men, that they be not hindered.And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which[ are] at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail:That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this.And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter[ and] to destroy this house of God which[ is] at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shetharboznai, and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they did speedily.And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished[ it], according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations[ and] of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.My face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute my secret[ place]: for the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it.

And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east,[ shall be] holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.

Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen,[ is yet] young and tender, and the work[ is] great: for the palace[ is] not for man, but for the LORD God.

All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and[ from] the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.

Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who[ also] laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of[ one of] the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahathmoab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces.And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Bethhaccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Colhozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Siloah by the king’s garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David.After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, unto[ the place] over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty.After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over against the going up to the armoury at the turning[ of the wall].After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning[ of the wall] unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.After him repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah the son of Koz another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib.And after him repaired the priests, the men of the plain.After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over against their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house.After him repaired Binnui the son of Henadad another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning[ of the wall], even unto the corner.Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning[ of the wall], and the tower which lieth out from the king’s high house, that[ was] by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto[ the place] over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out.After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel.From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over against his chamber.After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.
