During the reign of King Josiah, the Lord said to me,“ Have you seen what faithless Israel has done? She has gone up on every high hill and under every spreading tree and has committed adultery there.

During the time Josiah was king, the Lord spoke to me. He said,“ Have you seen what the people of Israel have done? They have not been faithful to me. They have committed adultery with other gods. They worshiped them on every high hill and under every green tree.

The Lord said to me in the days of King Josiah:“ Have you seen what she did, that faithless one, Israel, how she went up on every high hill and under every green tree, and there played the whore?

During the reign of King Josiah, the Lord said to me,“ Have you seen what fickle Israel has done? Like a wife who commits adultery, Israel has worshiped other gods on every hill and under every green tree.

In the days of King Josiah the LORD asked me,“ Have you seen what unfaithful Israel has done? She has ascended every high hill and gone under every green tree to prostitute herself there.

Then the Lord said to me in the days of King Josiah,“ Have you seen what faithless Israel did? She went up on every high hill and under every leafy tree, and she prostituted herself there.

The Lord said also to me in the days of Josiah the king:“ Have you seen what backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there played the harlot.

Moreover Jehovah said unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.

In the days of King Josiah the Lord asked me,“ Have you seen what unfaithful Israel has done? She has ascended every high hill and gone under every green tree to prostitute herself there.

The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen[ that] which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.

When Josiah was king of Judah, the LORD said to me,“ Jeremiah, you have no doubt seen what wayward Israel has done. You have seen how she went up to every high hill and under every green tree to give herself like a prostitute to other gods.

Moreover, Yahweh said to me in the days of Josiah the king,“ Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and has played the prostitute there.

在各个街头建造土墩，在各广场上筑高台；但你藐视行淫的赏金，又不像妓女。

因为他们在各高冈上，各青翠树下筑丘坛，立柱像和亚舍拉。

我领他们到我起誓应许赐给他们的地，他们看见各高冈、各茂密的树，就在那里献祭，献上惹我发怒的供物，也在那里焚烧馨香的祭，献浇酒祭。

他们却不听从，也不侧耳而听，竟随从自己的计谋和顽梗的恶心去行，不进反退。

他们的儿女思念他们在高冈上、青翠树旁的祭坛和亚舍拉。

又为自己建造土墩，在各广场上筑起高台。你在各个街头建造高台，使你的美貌变为可憎；又向所有过路的人招手，多行淫乱。

我看见背道的以色列行淫，我为这缘故给她休书休了她，她奸诈的妹妹犹大还不惧怕，也去行淫。

“她妹妹阿荷利巴虽然看见了，却还是纵欲，比姊姊更加腐败，行淫乱比姊姊更甚。

你自己的恶必惩治你，你背道的事必责罚你。由此可知可见，你离弃耶和华—你的上帝，不存敬畏我的心，实为恶事，为苦事；这是万军之主耶和华说的。”“你在古时折断你的轭，解开你的绳索，说：‘我必不事奉耶和华。’你在各高冈上、各青翠的树下屈身行淫。

耶和华对我说：“背道的以色列比奸诈的犹大还显为义。你去向北方宣告这些话，说：‘背道的以色列啊，回来吧！这是耶和华说的。我必不怒目看你们，因为我是慈爱的，这是耶和华说的。我必不永远怀怒；只要承认你的罪孽，就是违背耶和华—你的上帝，在各青翠的树下追逐外族的神明，没有听从我的话。这是耶和华说的。背道的儿女啊，回来吧！这是耶和华说的。因为我作你们的丈夫，要将你们从一城取一人，从一族取两人，带到锡安。

这是因为以色列人得罪了那领他们出埃及地、脱离埃及王法老之手的耶和华—他们的上帝，去敬畏别神，随从耶和华在以色列人面前所赶出外邦人的风俗和以色列诸王所立的规条。以色列人暗中行不正的事，违背耶和华—他们的上帝，在他们所有的城镇，从瞭望楼直到坚固城，建筑丘坛；在各高冈上、各青翠树下立柱像和亚舍拉；在各丘坛上烧香，效法耶和华在他们面前赶出的外邦人所行的，又行恶事，惹耶和华发怒。他们事奉偶像，耶和华对他们说：“你们不可做这事。”耶和华藉众先知、先见劝戒以色列和犹大说：“当离开你们的恶行，谨守我的诫命律例，遵行我吩咐你们祖先、藉我仆人众先知所传给你们的一切律法。”他们却不听从，竟硬着颈项，像他们祖先一样，不信服耶和华—他们的上帝。他们厌弃他的律例，和他与他们列祖所立的约，以及他劝戒他们的话，去随从虚无的神明，自己成为虚妄，效法周围的列国，就是耶和华嘱咐他们不可效法的。他们离弃耶和华—他们上帝的一切诫命，为自己铸造了两个牛犊的像，立了亚舍拉，敬拜天上的万象，事奉巴力，使他们的儿女经火，占卜，行法术，出卖自己，行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，惹他发怒。

你在高而又高的山上安设床铺，上那里去献祭。
