今在荒邱、聞有人聲、乃以色列人哀哭祈求、因行邪道、忘其上帝耶和華、

爾曹背道、忘我耶和華、爾之上帝、今在童山、我聞哭聲、籲呼於上。

“ Raise your eyes to the bare heights and see; Where have you not been violated? You have sat for them by the roads Like an Arab in the desert, And you have defiled a land With your prostitution and your wickedness.

Can a virgin forget her jewelry, Or a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me For days without number.

I have certainly heard Ephraim grieving,‘ You have disciplined me, and I was corrected, Like an untrained calf; Bring me back that I may be restored, For You are the Lord my God.For after I turned back, I repented; And after I was instructed, I slapped my thigh; I was ashamed and also humiliated Because I bore the shame of my youth.’Is Ephraim My dear son? One who walks in integrity walks securely, But one who perverts his ways will be found out.

Because your wrongdoing is great And your sins are numerous, I have done these things to you.Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; And all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity; And those who plunder you will become plunder, And all who plunder you I will turn into plunder.For I will restore you to health And I will heal you of your wounds,’ declares the Lord,‘ Because they have called you an outcast, saying:“ It is Zion; no one cares for her.” ’

“ In those days and at that time,” declares the Lord,“ the sons of Israel will come, they and the sons of Judah as well; they will go along weeping as they go, and it will be the Lord their God whom they will seek.They will ask for the way to Zion, turning their faces in its direction; they will come so that they may join themselves to the Lord in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.

“ And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and of pleading, so that they will look at Me whom they pierced; and they will mourn for Him, like one mourning for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.On that day the mourning in Jerusalem will be great, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the plain of Megiddo.The land will mourn, every family by itself; the family of the house of David by itself and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself and their wives by themselves;the family of the house of Levi by itself and their wives by themselves; the family of the Shimeites by itself and their wives by themselves;all the families that are left, every family by itself, and their wives by themselves.

Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:‘ Because you have forgotten Me and discarded Me behind your back, suffer on your own part the punishment for your outrageous sin and your obscene practices.’ ”

The foolishness of a person ruins his way, And his heart rages against the Lord.

For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; And Judah has multiplied fortified cities, But I will send a fire on its cities, and it will consume its palatial buildings.

Then the angel of the Lord said to him,“ Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way was reckless and contrary to me.

He will sing to people and say,‘ I have sinned and perverted what is right, And it is not proper for me.

Now hear this, you heads of the house of Jacob And rulers of the house of Israel, Who despise justice And twist everything that is straight,

As they had their pasture, they became satisfied, And as they became satisfied, their heart became proud; Therefore they forgot Me.

Even when their survivors escape, they will be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, each over his own wrongdoing.
