當那日，主必再度伸手救回自己百姓中所剩餘的，就是在亞述、埃及、巴特羅、古實、以攔、示拿、哈馬，並眾海島所剩下的。他要向列國豎立大旗，召集以色列被趕散的人，又從地極四方聚集分散的猶大人。以法蓮的嫉妒必消散，苦待猶大的也被剪除；以法蓮必不嫉妒猶大，猶大也不苦待以法蓮。

「人子啊，你要取一根木杖，在其上寫『為猶大和他的盟友以色列人』；又取一根木杖，在其上寫『為約瑟，就是以法蓮的杖，和他的盟友以色列全家』。你要將這兩根木杖彼此相接，連成一根，使它們在你手中合而為一。當你本國的子民對你說：『你這是甚麼意思，你不指示我們嗎？』你就對他們說，主耶和華如此說：看哪，我要將約瑟和他的盟友以色列支派的杖，就是在以法蓮手中的那根，與猶大的杖接連成為一根，在我手中合而為一。你要在他們眼前，把寫了字的那兩根杖拿在手中，對他們說，主耶和華如此說：看哪，我要從以色列人所到的列國帶領他們，從四圍聚集他們，領他們回到本地。我要使他們在這地，在以色列羣山上成為一國，必有一王作他們全體的王。他們不再成為二國，絕不再分為二國。

以法蓮用謊言圍繞我，以色列家用詭計環繞我；猶大卻仍與神同行，向聖者忠心。

看哪，日子將到，我要使我的百姓以色列和猶大被擄的人歸回。這是耶和華說的。耶和華說：我要使他們回到我所賜給他們祖先之地，他們就得這地為業。」

「所以主耶和華如此說：現在，我要使雅各被擄的人歸回，要憐憫以色列全家，又為我的聖名發熱心。我將他們從萬民中領回，從仇敵之地召來，在許多國家的眼前，在他們身上顯為聖，他們在本地安然居住，無人使他們驚嚇，那時，他們要擔當自己的羞辱和干犯我的一切罪。

我要堅固猶大家，拯救約瑟家，我要領他們歸回，因我憐憫他們，他們必像我未曾棄絕他們一樣；都因我是耶和華－他們的神，我必應允他們。
