Seek the prosperity of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord in its behalf; for in its prosperity will be your prosperity.’

我所使你们被掳到的那城，你们要为那城求平安，为那城祷告耶和华；因为那城得平安，你们也随着得平安。

你们要为所住的城市谋求福祉，向耶和华祷告，因为你们的福祉有赖于那城的福祉。”

予俾爾為俘囚、至於斯邑、汝當求予、錫斯邑以平康、蓋斯邑綏安、爾亦得享。

我使爾被擄至巴比倫邑、當為斯邑祈求我、我原文作主賜之以平康、蓋斯邑平康、爾亦平康、

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

Also work for the success of the city I have sent you to. Pray to the Lord for that city. If it succeeds, you too will enjoy success.”

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.

And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”

Pursue the well-being of the city I have deported you to. Pray to the LORD on its behalf, for when it thrives, you will thrive.”

And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray unto Jehovah for it; for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

Seek the welfare of the city I have deported you to. Pray to the Lord on its behalf, for when it has prosperity, you will prosper.”

Work to see that the city where I sent you as exiles enjoys peace and prosperity. Pray to the LORD for it. For as it prospers you will prosper.’

First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made in behalf of all people,for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

so that they may offer acceptable sacrifices to the God of heaven and pray for the lives of the king and his sons.

Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, it shall be done with zeal for the house of the God of heaven, so that there will not be wrath against the kingdom of the king and his sons.

“ Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was appalled for a while as his thoughts alarmed him. The king responded and said,‘ Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.’ Belteshazzar replied,‘ My lord, if only the dream applied to those who hate you, and its interpretation to your adversaries!

Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority,or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right.For such is the will of God, that by doing right you silence the ignorance of foolish people.Act as free people, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bond servants of God.Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.

Therefore, O king, may my advice be pleasing to you: wipe away your sin by doing righteousness, and your wrongdoings by showing mercy to the poor, in case there may be a prolonging of your prosperity.’

Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for the sake of conscience.

Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.

Then the commissioners and satraps began trying to find a ground of accusation against Daniel regarding government affairs; but they could find no ground of accusation or evidence of corruption, because he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was to be found in him.Then these men said,“ We will not find any ground of accusation against this Daniel unless we find it against him regarding the law of his God.”
