Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

Also work for the success of the city I have sent you to. Pray to the Lord for that city. If it succeeds, you too will enjoy success.”

First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone,for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

so that they can offer sacrifices of pleasing aroma to the God of the heavens and pray for the life of the king and his sons.

Whatever is commanded by the God of the heavens must be done diligently for the house of the God of the heavens, so that wrath will not fall on the realm of the king and his sons.

Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was stunned for a moment, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king said,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My lord, may the dream apply to those who hate you, and its interpretation to your enemies!

Submit to every human authority because of the Lord, whether to the emperor as the supreme authorityor to governors as those sent out by him to punish those who do what is evil and to praise those who do what is good.For it is God’s will that you silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good.Submit as free people, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but as God’s slaves.Honor everyone. Love the brothers and sisters. Fear God. Honor the emperor.

Therefore, may my advice seem good to you my king. Separate yourself from your sins by doing what is right, and from your injustices by showing mercy to the needy. Perhaps there will be an extension of your prosperity.”

Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath but also because of your conscience.

Let everyone submit to the governing authorities, since there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are instituted by God.

The administrators and satraps, therefore, kept trying to find a charge against Daniel regarding the kingdom. But they could find no charge or corruption, for he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was found in him.Then these men said,“ We will never find any charge against this Daniel unless we find something against him concerning the law of his God.”
