我要你憑耶和華——掌管天地的上帝起誓，你不會找這迦南的女子做我兒子的妻子。你要回到我的家鄉，在我的親族中為以撒物色妻子。」

他住在巴蘭曠野，他母親為他娶了一個埃及女子。

你們要生養眾多，使地上人口興旺。」

「你不可在這地方娶妻，也不可生兒育女。至於在這地方出生的孩子和他們的父母，耶和華說，『他們必死於惡疾，無人哀悼，無人埋葬，他們好像地上的糞便。他們必死於戰爭和饑荒，屍首必成為飛鳥和走獸的食物。』」

上帝就照著自己的形像造了人，祂照著自己的形像造了男人和女人。上帝賜福給他們，對他們說：「你們要生養眾多，遍佈地面，治理大地，管理海裡的魚、空中的鳥以及地上的各種動物。」

他求父親哈抹為他說親，把底娜娶過來。

並為利百加祝福，說：「我們的妹妹啊，願你成為千萬人之母！願你的後代戰勝仇敵！」

他回到家裡便對父母說：「我在亭拿看中一個非利士女子，把她給我娶來做妻子吧！」

若有人覺得對待自己的未婚妻有不合宜之處，女方的年紀也夠大，自己又情慾難禁，就成全他的心願，讓他們結婚吧！這並不算犯罪。如果這人心裡確信自己沒有結婚的需要，又能自己作主，打定主意不結婚，這樣做也好。所以，與未婚妻完婚是對的，但不結婚則更好。

所以，我建議年輕的寡婦再嫁，生兒育女，料理家務，不要給仇敵毀謗的機會，
