Because he has done this,” the LORD says,“ I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his whole family. There will not be any of them left to experience the good things that I will do for my people. I, the LORD, affirm it! For he counseled rebellion against the LORD.”’”

故此永恆主這麼說：看吧，我必察罰尼希蘭人示瑪雅和他的後裔；他必沒有一人住在這人民中間得見我所要施行於我人民的福樂，永恆主發神諭說，因為他向永恆主說了叛逆的話。」』

故耶和華曰、我必罰尼希蘭人示瑪雅、爰及苗裔、蓋彼出言悖逆耶和華、必無一人生存、居於民中、亦不得見我所將錫我民之福、耶和華言之矣、

故我云、必罰之、爰及苗裔、彼使人違我、故我錫福於斯民、彼不得享、彼之子孫、必絕滅於民間。

故主如是云、我必罰尼希蘭人示瑪雅、爰及苗裔、無一人存留居斯民中、不得見我所欲降我民之福、因彼所言、使人違逆我、我原文作主此乃主所言、

this is what the Lord says: I will surely punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. He will have no one left among this people, nor will he see the good things I will do for my people, declares the Lord, because he has preached rebellion against me.’”

So I say,‘ I will certainly punish Shemaiah, the Nehelamite. I will also punish his children after him. He will not have any children left among these people. I will do good things for my people. But he will not see them,’ ” ’ ” announces the Lord.“ ‘ “ ‘That’s because he has taught people to turn against me.’ ” ’ ”

therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah of Nehelam and his descendants. He shall not have anyone living among this people, and he shall not see the good that I will do to my people, declares the Lord, for he has spoken rebellion against the Lord.’”

I will punish him and his family. None of his descendants will see the good things I will do for my people, for he has incited you to rebel against me. I, the Lord, have spoken!’”

this is what the LORD says: I am about to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. There will not be even one of his descendants living among these people, nor will any ever see the good that I will bring to my people— this is the LORD’s declaration— for he has preached rebellion against the LORD.’”

therefore this is what the Lord says:“ Behold, I am going to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants; he will not have anyone living among this people, and he will not see the good that I am going to do for My people,” declares the Lord,“ because he has spoken falsely against the Lord.” ’ ”

therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his family: he shall not have anyone to dwell among this people, nor shall he see the good that I will do for My people, says the Lord, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord.

therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed; he shall not have a man to dwell among this people, neither shall he behold the good that I will do unto my people, saith Jehovah, because he hath spoken rebellion against Jehovah.

this is what the Lord says: I am about to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. There will not be even one of his descendants living among these people, nor will any ever see the good that I will bring to My people”— this is the Lord’s declaration—“ for he has preached rebellion against the Lord.”

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.

therefore Yahweh says,“ Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his offspring. He will not have a man to dwell among this people. He won’t see the good that I will do to my people,” says Yahweh,“ because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh.”’”

So the LORD says,‘ I will most assuredly remove you from the face of the earth. You will die this very year because you have counseled rebellion against the LORD.’”

They will be like a shrub in the desert. They will not experience good things even when they happen. It will be as though they were growing in the desert, in a salt land where no one can live.

But the officer replied to the prophet,“ Look, even if the LORD made it rain by opening holes in the sky, could this happen so soon?” Elisha said,“ Look, you will see it happen with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of the food!”This is exactly what happened to him. The people trampled him to death in the city gate.

Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, says,‘ I really did say that your house and your ancestor’s house would serve me forever.’ But now the LORD says,‘ May it never be! For I will honor those who honor me, but those who despise me will be cursed!In fact, days are coming when I will remove your strength and the strength of your father’s house. There will not be an old man in your house!You will see trouble in my dwelling place! Israel will experience blessings, but there will not be an old man in your house for all time.Any one of you that I do not cut off from my altar, I will cause your eyes to fail and will cause you grief. All of those born to your family will die in the prime of life.This will be a confirming sign for you that will be fulfilled through your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas: in a single day they both will die!

An officer who was the king’s right-hand man responded to the prophet,“ Look, even if the LORD made it rain by opening holes in the sky, could this happen so soon?” Elisha said,“ Look, you will see it happen with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of the food!”

The LORD says,“ Enroll this man in the register as though he were childless. Enroll him as a man who will not enjoy success during his lifetime. For none of his sons will succeed in occupying the throne of David or ever succeed in ruling over Judah.”

You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I, the LORD, your God, am a jealous God, responding to the transgression of fathers by dealing with children to the third and fourth generations of those who reject me,

You, Pashhur, and all your household will go into exile in Babylon. You will die there and you will be buried there. The same thing will happen to all your friends to whom you have prophesied lies.’”

Then Joshua and all Israel took Achan, son of Zerah, along with the silver, the robe, the bar of gold, his sons, daughters, ox, donkey, sheep, tent, and all that belonged to him and brought them up to the Valley of Disaster.Joshua said,“ Why have you brought disaster on us? The LORD will bring disaster on you today!” All Israel stoned him to death.( They also stoned and burned the others.)

Therefore Naaman’s skin disease will afflict you and your descendants forever!” When Gehazi went out from his presence, his skin was as white as snow.

So they got away from the homes of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram on every side, and Dathan and Abiram came out and stationed themselves in the entrances of their tents with their wives, their children, and their toddlers.Then Moses said,“ This is how you will know that the LORD has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them of my own will.If these men die a natural death, or if they share the fate of all men, then the LORD has not sent me.But if the LORD does something entirely new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up along with all that they have, and they go down alive to the grave, then you will know that these men have despised the LORD!”When he had finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split open,and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, along with their households, and all Korah’s men, and all their goods.They and all that they had went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed over them. So they perished from among the community.

So the LORD God of Israel who rules over all says,‘ Jonadab son of Rechab will never lack a male descendant to serve me.’”

“ Therefore this is what the LORD says:‘ Your wife will become a prostitute in the streets and your sons and daughters will die violently. Your land will be given to others and you will die in a foreign land. Israel will certainly be carried into exile away from its land.’”

You will not be buried with them, because you destroyed your land and killed your people. The offspring of the wicked will never be mentioned again.

“ For the LORD says,‘ Only when the seventy years of Babylonian rule are over will I again take up consideration for you. Then I will fulfill my gracious promise to you and restore you to your homeland.For I know what I have planned for you,’ says the LORD.‘ I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope.When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, I will hear your prayers.When you seek me in prayer and worship, you will find me available to you. If you seek me with all your heart and soul,I will make myself available to you,’ says the LORD.‘ Then I will reverse your plight and will regather you from all the nations and all the places where I have exiled you,’ says the LORD.‘ I will bring you back to the place from which I exiled you.’

“ I will rise up against them,” says the LORD who commands armies.“ I will blot out all remembrance of Babylon and destroy all her people, including the offspring she produces,” says the LORD.

May his days be few! May another take his job!May his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow!May his children roam around begging, asking for handouts as they leave their ruined home!May the creditor seize all he owns! May strangers loot his property!May no one show him kindness! May no one have compassion on his fatherless children!May his descendants be cut off! May the memory of them be wiped out by the time the next generation arrives!May his ancestors’ sins be remembered by the LORD! May his mother’s sin not be forgotten!May the LORD be constantly aware of them, and cut off the memory of his children from the earth!
