This is the text of the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the surviving elders among the exiles and to the priests, the prophets and all the other people Nebuchadnezzar had carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.

Jeremiah the prophet sent a letter from Jerusalem to Babylon. It was for the Jewish elders still alive there. It was also for the priests and prophets in Babylon. And it was for all the other people Nebuchadnezzar had taken from Jerusalem to Babylon.

末底改记录这事，写信与亚哈随鲁王各省远近所有的犹大人，

万军之耶和华以色列的神如此说：你曾用自己的名寄信给耶路撒冷的众民和祭司玛西雅的儿子西番雅，并众祭司，说：‘耶和华已经立你西番雅为祭司，代替祭司耶何耶大，使耶和华殿中有官长，好将一切狂妄自称为先知的人用枷枷住，用锁锁住。现在亚拿突人耶利米向你们自称为先知，你们为何没有责备他呢？因为他寄信给我们在巴比伦的人说：被掳的事必长久。你们要盖造房屋，住在其中；栽种田园，吃其中所产的。’”祭司西番雅就把这信念给先知耶利米听。

于是写信交付他们，内中说：“使徒和作长老的弟兄们问安提阿、叙利亚、基利家外邦众弟兄的安。

弟兄们，我略略写信给你们，望你们听我劝勉的话。

“你要写信给以弗所教会的使者说，那右手拿着七星，在七个金灯台中间行走的，说：我知道你的行为、劳碌、忍耐，也知道你不能容忍恶人。你也曾试验那自称为使徒却不是使徒的，看出他们是假的来。你也能忍耐，曾为我的名劳苦，并不乏倦。

希西家差遣人去见以色列和犹大众人，又写信给以法莲和玛拿西人，叫他们到耶路撒冷耶和华的殿，向耶和华以色列的神守逾越节；因为王和众首领，并耶路撒冷全会众已经商议，要在二月内守逾越节。正月间他们不能守；因为自洁的祭司尚不敷用，百姓也没有聚集在耶路撒冷；王与全会众都以这事为善。于是定了命令，传遍以色列，从别是巴直到但，使他们都来，在耶路撒冷向耶和华以色列的神守逾越节；因为照所写的例，守这节的不多了。驿卒就把王和众首领的信，遵着王命传遍以色列和犹大。信内说：“以色列人哪，你们当转向耶和华亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的神，好叫他转向你们这脱离亚述王手的余民。

巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒将犹大王约雅敬的儿子耶哥尼雅和犹大的首领，并工匠、铁匠从耶路撒冷掳去，带到巴比伦。这事以后，耶和华指给我看，有两筐无花果放在耶和华的殿前。一筐是极好的无花果，好像是初熟的；一筐是极坏的无花果，坏得不可吃。于是耶和华问我说：“耶利米你看见什么？”我说：“我看见无花果，好的极好，坏的极坏，坏得不可吃。”耶和华的话临到我说：“耶和华以色列的神如此说：被掳去的犹大人，就是我打发离开这地到迦勒底人之地去的，我必看顾他们如这好无花果，使他们得好处。我要眷顾他们，使他们得好处，领他们归回这地。我也要建立他们，必不拆毁；栽植他们，并不拔出。我要赐他们认识我的心，知道我是耶和华。他们要作我的子民，我要作他们的神，因为他们要一心归向我。”

我先前写信叫你们忧愁，我后来虽然懊悔，如今却不懊悔；因我知道，那信叫你们忧愁不过是暂时的。

我又要将犹大王约雅敬的儿子耶哥尼雅和被掳到巴比伦去的一切犹大人带回此地，因为我要折断巴比伦王的轭。这是耶和华说的。”
