但预言平安的先知，除非他的话应验，人才会承认他确实是耶和华所差遣的先知。”

先知預言平康、其言得應、則知其先知誠為耶和華所遣、

或言民得平康、苟其言有驗、則知其為耶和華所遣。

有先知預言將享平康、及至先知之言有驗、則知其先知、真為主所遣、

But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the Lord only if his prediction comes true.”

But what if a prophet says peace will come? And suppose peace really does come? Only then will he be recognized as a prophet truly sent by the Lord.”

As for the prophet who prophesies peace, when the word of that prophet comes to pass, then it will be known that the Lord has truly sent the prophet.”

So a prophet who predicts peace must show he is right. Only when his predictions come true can we know that he is really from the Lord.”

先知奉耶和華的名說話，所說的若沒有實現，或不應驗，這話就是耶和華未曾吩咐的，而是那先知擅自說的，你不必怕他。」

他們輕忽地醫治我百姓的損傷，說：『平安了！平安了！』其實沒有平安。

我說：「哀哉！主耶和華啊，你真是大大欺哄這百姓和耶路撒冷，說：『你們必得平安。』其實刀劍已經抵住喉嚨了！」

他們誘惑我的百姓，說：『平安！』其實沒有平安，就像有人築牆壁，看哪，他們倒去粉刷它。所以你要對那些粉刷的人說：『牆要倒塌，暴雨漫過。你們大冰雹啊，要降下，狂風要吹裂這牆。』看哪，這牆倒塌，人豈不是要問你們說：『你們所粉刷的在哪裏呢？』」所以主耶和華如此說：「我要發怒，使狂風吹裂它，在怒中令暴雨漫過，又發怒降下大冰雹，毀壞它。我要這樣拆毀你們那粉飾的牆，把它夷為平地，以致根基露出；牆一倒塌，你們也要在其中滅亡。你們就知道我是耶和華。我要對牆和粉刷它的人發盡我的憤怒，我要對你們說：『牆沒有了！粉刷它的人也沒有了！』這就是以色列的先知，他們指着耶路撒冷說預言，見到這城平安的異象，其實沒有平安。這是主耶和華說的。」
