With my great power and outstretched arm I made the earth and its people and the animals that are on it, and I give it to anyone I please.

我以大力巨能、創造大地、與地上人民牲畜、我以地賜人、惟我所悅、

I reached out my great and powerful arm. I made the earth. I made its people and animals. And I can give the earth to anyone I please.

“ It is I who by my great power and my outstretched arm have made the earth, with the men and animals that are on the earth, and I give it to whomever it seems right to me.

With my great strength and powerful arm I made the earth and all its people and every animal. I can give these things of mine to anyone I choose.

“ By my great strength and outstretched arm, I made the earth, and the people, and animals on the face of the earth. I give it to anyone I please.

‘ I have made the earth, mankind, and the animals which are on the face of the earth by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and I will give it to the one who is pleasing in My sight.

‘ I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me.

I have made the earth, the men and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm; and I give it unto whom it seemeth right unto me.

By My great strength and outstretched arm, I made the earth, and the people, and animals on the face of the earth. I give it to anyone I please.

I have made the earth, the man and the beast that[ are] upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.

“ I made the earth and the people and animals on it by my mighty power and great strength, and I give it to whomever I see fit.

‘ I have made the earth, the men, and the animals that are on the surface of the earth by my great power and by my outstretched arm. I give it to whom it seems right to me.

“ Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.

May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to mankind.

“‘ The decision is announced by messengers, the holy ones declare the verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people.’

Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God.He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— he remains faithful forever.

This is what God the Lord says— the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it:

“ He made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.

It is I who made the earth and created mankind on it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts.

“ You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

“ Tell them this:‘ These gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the heavens.’”But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.

who by his understanding made the heavens, His love endures forever.who spread out the earth upon the waters, His love endures forever.who made the great lights— His love endures forever.the sun to govern the day, His love endures forever.the moon and stars to govern the night; His love endures forever.

My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they all stand up together.

“ Friends, why are you doing this? We too are only human, like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them.

Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts.Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars.Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies.Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were created,

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.He was with God in the beginning.Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

that you forget the Lord your Maker, who stretches out the heavens and who lays the foundations of the earth, that you live in constant terror every day because of the wrath of the oppressor, who is bent on destruction? For where is the wrath of the oppressor?

He also says,“ In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded?He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.“ To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One.Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

“ This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself,

For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

“ Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand.Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it?On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone—while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?“ Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb,when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness,when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place,when I said,‘ This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt’?“ Have you ever given orders to the morning, or shown the dawn its place,that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it?The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like those of a garment.The wicked are denied their light, and their upraised arm is broken.“ Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea or walked in the recesses of the deep?Have the gates of death been shown to you? Have you seen the gates of the deepest darkness?Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth? Tell me, if you know all this.“ What is the way to the abode of light? And where does darkness reside?Can you take them to their places? Do you know the paths to their dwellings?Surely you know, for you were already born! You have lived so many years!“ Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of the hail,which I reserve for times of trouble, for days of war and battle?What is the way to the place where the lightning is dispersed, or the place where the east winds are scattered over the earth?Who cuts a channel for the torrents of rain, and a path for the thunderstorm,to water a land where no one lives, an uninhabited desert,to satisfy a desolate wasteland and make it sprout with grass?Does the rain have a father? Who fathers the drops of dew?From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frost from the heavenswhen the waters become hard as stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen?“ Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades? Can you loosen Orion’s belt?Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons or lead out the Bear with its cubs?Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up God’s dominion over the earth?“ Can you raise your voice to the clouds and cover yourself with a flood of water?Do you send the lightning bolts on their way? Do they report to you,‘ Here we are’?Who gives the ibis wisdom or gives the rooster understanding?Who has the wisdom to count the clouds? Who can tip over the water jars of the heavenswhen the dust becomes hard and the clods of earth stick together?“ Do you hunt the prey for the lioness and satisfy the hunger of the lionswhen they crouch in their dens or lie in wait in a thicket?Who provides food for the raven when its young cry out to God and wander about for lack of food?

He struck down many nations and killed mighty kings—Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan—and he gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel.

When you come to the Ammonites, do not harass them or provoke them to war, for I will not give you possession of any land belonging to the Ammonites. I have given it as a possession to the descendants of Lot.”

or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air,

Then the Lord said to me,“ Do not harass the Moabites or provoke them to war, for I will not give you any part of their land. I have given Ar to the descendants of Lot as a possession.”

The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.

The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

You were shown these things so that you might know that the Lord is God; besides him there is no other.

Then God said,“ I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground— everything that has the breath of life in it— I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

After you have had children and grandchildren and have lived in the land a long time— if you then become corrupt and make any kind of idol, doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God and arousing his anger,

But they are your people, your inheritance that you brought out by your great power and your outstretched arm.”

They were a people strong and numerous, and as tall as the Anakites. The Lord destroyed them from before the Ammonites, who drove them out and settled in their place.

In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.

Ask now about the former days, long before your time, from the day God created human beings on the earth; ask from one end of the heavens to the other. Has anything so great as this ever happened, or has anything like it ever been heard of?

When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel.

“ This is what Cyrus king of Persia says:“‘ The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.

“ The dead are in deep anguish, those beneath the waters and all that live in them.The realm of the dead is naked before God; Destruction lies uncovered.He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.He wraps up the waters in his clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their weight.He covers the face of the full moon, spreading his clouds over it.He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters for a boundary between light and darkness.The pillars of the heavens quake, aghast at his rebuke.By his power he churned up the sea; by his wisdom he cut Rahab to pieces.By his breath the skies became fair; his hand pierced the gliding serpent.And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?”

“ Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

“ Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.

“ The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.

“ Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them— to the Israelites.I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.
