But if they are prophets, and if the word of the Lord is with them, have them now plead with the Lord of armies that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord and the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem do not go to Babylon.

If they are prophets and have the word of the Lord, let them plead with the Lord Almighty that the articles remaining in the house of the Lord and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem not be taken to Babylon.

If they are prophets and have received a message from me, let them pray to me. I am the Lord who rules over all. Those prophets should pray that what is still in Jerusalem will remain here. They should pray that the objects in my house and the king’s palace will not be taken to Babylon.

If they are prophets, and if the word of the Lord is with them, then let them intercede with the Lord of hosts, that the vessels that are left in the house of the Lord, in the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem may not go to Babylon.

If they really are prophets and speak the Lord’s messages, let them pray to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. Let them pray that the articles remaining in the Lord’s Temple and in the king’s palace and in the palaces of Jerusalem will not be carried away to Babylon!’

If they are indeed prophets and if the word of the LORD is with them, let them intercede with the LORD of Armies not to let the articles that remain in the LORD’s temple, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem go to Babylon.’

I also told them,“ If they are really prophets and the LORD is speaking to them, let them pray earnestly to the LORD who rules over all. Let them plead with him not to let the valuable articles that are still left in the LORD’s temple, in the royal palace, and in Jerusalem be taken away to Babylon.

But if they are prophets, and if Yahweh’s word is with them, let them now make intercession to Yahweh of Armies, that the vessels which are left in Yahweh’s house, in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, don’t go to Babylon.

So the sons of Israel said to Samuel,“ Do not stop crying out to the Lord our God for us, that He will save us from the hand of the Philistines!”

Then all the people said to Samuel,“ Pray to the Lord your God for your servants, so that we do not die; for we have added to all our sins this evil, by asking for ourselves a king.”

Furthermore, as for me, far be it from me that I would sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you; but I will instruct you in the good and right way.

Should good be repaid with evil? For they have dug a pit for me. Remember how I stood before You To speak good in their behalf, So as to turn Your wrath away from them.

Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord; and the God who answers by fire, He is God.” And all the people replied,“ That is a good idea.”

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much.Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.

But King Hezekiah and Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, prayed about this and called out to heaven for help.

“ As for you, do not pray for this people, and do not lift up a cry or prayer for them, and do not plead with Me; for I am not listening to you.

Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to My servant Job, and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves, and My servant Job will pray for you. For I will accept him so as not to do with you as your foolishness deserves, because you have not spoken of Me what is trustworthy, as My servant Job has.”So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord told them; and the Lord accepted Job.

Then the Lord said to me,“ Even if Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me, My heart would not be with this people. Send them away from My presence and have them go!

I searched for a man among them who would build up a wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.

even though these three men were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord God,“ they could not save either their sons or their daughters, but they alone would be saved.Or if I were to send a plague against that country and pour out My wrath on it in blood to eliminate man and animal from it,even though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord God,“ they could not save either their son or their daughter. They would save only themselves by their righteousness.”

and said to Jeremiah the prophet,“ Please let our pleading come before you, and pray for us to the Lord your God for all this remnant— since we have been left only a few out of many, just as your own eyes now see us—

“ But now, do indeed plead for God’s favor, so that He will be gracious to us. With such an offering on your part, will He receive any of you kindly?” says the Lord of armies.

Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech and his wife and his female slaves, so that they gave birth to children.

even though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job were in its midst, by their own righteousness they could only save themselves,” declares the Lord God.

Then they took the ox which was given them and they prepared it, and they called on the name of Baal from morning until noon, saying,“ O Baal, answer us!” But there was no voice and no one answered. And they limped about the altar which they had made.

Suppose there are fifty righteous people within the city; will You indeed sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous who are in it?Far be it from You to do such a thing, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?”So the Lord said,“ If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare the entire place on their account.”And Abraham replied,“ Now behold, I have ventured to speak to the Lord, although I am only dust and ashes.Suppose the fifty righteous are lacking five, will You destroy the entire city because of five?” And He said,“ I will not destroy it if I find forty five there.”And he spoke to Him yet again and said,“ Suppose forty are found there?” And He said,“ I will not do it on account of the forty.”Then he said,“ Oh may the Lord not be angry, and I shall speak; suppose thirty are found there?” And He said,“ I will not do it if I find thirty there.”And he said,“ Now behold, I have ventured to speak to the Lord; suppose twenty are found there?” And He said,“ I will not destroy it on account of the twenty.”Then he said,“ Oh may the Lord not be angry, and I shall speak only this once: suppose ten are found there?” And He said,“ I will not destroy it on account of the ten.”As soon as He had finished speaking to Abraham the Lord departed, and Abraham returned to his place.
