我每逢講話的時候，就哀嘆，我喊叫：「有暴力和毀滅！」因為耶和華的話終日成了我的凌辱和譏刺。我若說：「我不再提耶和華，也不再奉他的名講論」，我心裏便覺得似乎有燒着的火悶在我骨中，我忍受不住，不能自禁。我聽見許多的毀謗，四圍都是驚嚇；連我知己朋友都看着我跌倒：「告他吧，我們要告他！或者他被引誘，我們就能勝他，在他身上報仇。」然而，耶和華與我同在，好像可怕的勇士。因此，迫害我的都絆跌，不能得勝；他們大大蒙羞，由於行事沒有智慧，必永遠受那不能忘懷的羞辱。

園戶拿住僕人，打了一個，殺了一個，用石頭打死了一個。主人又打發別的僕人去，比先前更多；園戶還是照樣對待他們。最後他打發自己的兒子到他們那裏去，說：『他們會尊敬我的兒子。』可是，園戶看見他兒子，彼此說：『這是承受產業的。來，我們殺了他，佔他的產業！』於是他們拿住他，把他扔出葡萄園外，殺了。

那時，祭司長和百姓的長老聚集在那稱為該亞法的大祭司的院裏。大家商議要設計捉拿耶穌，把他殺掉。

我責打你們的兒女是徒然的，他們不受管教。你們自己的刀吞滅你們的先知，好像殘害人的獅子。

議會的人聽了極其惱怒，想要殺他們。

祭司長和全議會尋找假見證控告耶穌，要處死他。雖然有好些人來作假見證，總找不到實據。最後有兩個人前來，說：「這個人曾說：『我能拆毀上帝的殿，三日內又建造起來。』」大祭司就站起來，對耶穌說：「這些人作證告你的事，你甚麼都不回答嗎？」耶穌卻不言語。大祭司對他說：「我指着永生上帝命令你起誓告訴我們，你是不是基督－上帝的兒子？」耶穌對他說：「你自己說了。然而，我告訴你們，此後你們要看見人子坐在權能者的右邊，駕着天上的雲來臨。」大祭司就撕裂衣服，說：「他說了褻瀆的話，我們何必再要證人呢？現在你們已經聽見他這褻瀆的話了。你們的意見如何？」他們回答：「他該處死。」

先知、聖徒和地上一切被殺的人的血都在這城裏找到了。」

「你與步行的人同跑，尚且覺得累，怎能與馬賽跑呢？你在安全之地尚且會跌倒，在約旦河邊的叢林要怎麼辦呢？因為連你兄弟和你父家都以詭詐待你，甚至在你後邊大聲喊叫。雖然他們向你說好話，你也不要相信他們。」

他們說：「來吧！讓我們設計謀害耶利米；因為我們有祭司講律法，有智慧人設謀略，有先知說預言，都未曾斷絕。來吧！讓我們用舌頭攻擊他，不要理他一切的話。」

其餘的抓住僕人，凌辱他們，把他們殺了。

這樣，你們就證明自己是殺害先知的人的子孫了。你們去充滿你們祖宗的惡貫吧！你們這些蛇啊，毒蛇的孽種啊，怎能逃脫地獄的懲罰呢？所以，我差遣先知、智慧人和文士到你們這裏來，有的你們要殺害，要釘十字架；有的你們要在會堂裏鞭打，從這城追逼到那城，如此，地上所有義人流的血都歸到你們身上，從義人亞伯的血起，直到你們在聖所和祭壇中間所殺的巴拉加的兒子撒迦利亞的血為止。

他們卻嘲笑上帝的使者，藐視他的話，譏誚他的先知，以致耶和華向他的百姓大發烈怒，甚至無法可救。

我像柔順的羔羊被牽去宰殺，並不知道他們設計謀害我：「我們把樹連果子都滅了吧！把他從活人之地剪除，使他的名不再被記得。」按公義判斷、察驗人肺腑心腸的萬軍之耶和華啊，求你使我得見你在他們身上報仇，因我已將我的案件向你稟明了。所以，耶和華論到尋索你命的亞拿突人如此說：「他們說：你不要奉耶和華的名說預言，免得你死在我們手中。
