則我必棄此殿宇、與昔棄示羅無異、使此邑為列邦所詛。

則我必使斯殿如示羅、使此邑為天下萬邦所詛、

I will deliver them to trouble into all the kingdoms of the earth, for their harm, to be a reproach and a byword, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I shall drive them.

because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the Lord when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they would become a desolation and a curse, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you,” says the Lord.

So the Philistines fought, and Israel was defeated, and every man fled to his tent. There was a very great slaughter, and there fell of Israel thirty thousand foot soldiers.Also the ark of God was captured; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died.Then a man of Benjamin ran from the battle line the same day, and came to Shiloh with his clothes torn and dirt on his head.

So that He forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, The tent He had placed among men,And delivered His strength into captivity, And His glory into the enemy’s hand.He also gave His people over to the sword, And was furious with His inheritance.The fire consumed their young men, And their maidens were not given in marriage.Their priests fell by the sword, And their widows made no lamentation.

Now his daughter-in-law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, due to be delivered; and when she heard the news that the ark of God was captured, and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and gave birth, for her labor pains came upon her.And about the time of her death the women who stood by her said to her,“ Do not fear, for you have borne a son.” But she did not answer, nor did she regard it.Then she named the child Ichabod, saying,“ The glory has departed from Israel!” because the ark of God had been captured and because of her father-in-law and her husband.And she said,“ The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured.”

Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; I will give Jacob to the curse, And Israel to reproaches.

in that you provoke Me to wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have gone to dwell, that you may cut yourselves off and be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah, the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?They have not been humbled, to this day, nor have they feared; they have not walked in My law or in My statutes that I set before you and your fathers.’“ Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:‘ Behold, I will set My face against you for catastrophe and for cutting off all Judah.And I will take the remnant of Judah who have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to dwell there, and they shall all be consumed and fall in the land of Egypt. They shall be consumed by the sword and by famine. They shall die, from the least to the greatest, by the sword and by famine; and they shall be an oath, an astonishment, a curse and a reproach!

So the Lord could no longer bear it, because of the evil of your doings and because of the abominations which you committed. Therefore your land is a desolation, an astonishment, a curse, and without an inhabitant, as it is this day.

Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, and has departed so as not to obey Your voice; therefore the curse and the oath written in the Law of Moses the servant of God have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against Him.

And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
