則我必使斯殿如示羅、使此邑為天下萬邦所詛、

then I will make this house like Shiloh and this city a curse among all the nations of the earth.’”

So I will make this house like Shiloh. All the nations on earth will use the name of this city in a curse.” ’ ”

I will even give them up to be tossed to and fro among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil; to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.

because thy heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before Jehovah, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith Jehovah.

And his daughter- in- law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, near to be delivered: and when she heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father- in- law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and brought forth; for her pains came upon her.And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast brought forth a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it.And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel; because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father- in- law and her husband.And she said, The glory is departed from Israel; for the ark of God is taken.

Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; and I will make Jacob a curse, and Israel a reviling.

so that Jehovah could not longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land become a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.

Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even turning aside, that they should not obey thy voice: therefore hath the curse been poured out upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God; for we have sinned against him.
