庶幾彼眾聽從、各舍惡途、則我心回意轉、不降我因其惡行所欲降彼之災、

Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from their evil ways. Then I will relent and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.

Perhaps they will listen. Maybe they will turn from their evil ways. Then I will not do what I said I would. I will not bring trouble on them. I had planned to punish them because of the evil things they had done.

It may be they will listen, and every one turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the disaster that I intend to do to them because of their evil deeds.

我何时论到一邦或一国说，要拔出、拆毁、毁坏；我所说的那一邦若回转离开他们的恶，我就改变心意，不将我想要施行的灾祸降与他们。我何时论到一邦或一国说，要建立、栽植；他们若行我眼中看为恶的事，不听从我的话，我就改变心意，不将我所说的福气赐给他们。

你们要洗涤、自洁，从我眼前除掉恶行；要停止作恶，学习行善，寻求公平，帮助受欺压的，替孤儿伸冤，为寡妇辩护。”耶和华说：“来吧，我们彼此辩论。你们的罪虽像朱红，必变成雪白；虽红如丹颜，必白如羊毛。你们若甘心听从，必吃地上的美物；

或者犹大家听见我想要降给他们的一切灾祸，各人就回转离开恶道，我就赦免他们的罪孽和罪恶。”

恶人若回转离开所行的恶，行公平公义的事，他必救自己的命；因为他省察，回转离开所犯的一切罪过，他必要存活，不致死亡。以色列家还说：‘主的道不公平！’以色列家啊，我的道不公平吗？你们的道不是不公平吗？所以，以色列家啊，我必按你们各人所做的审判你们。当回转，回转离开你们一切的罪过，免得罪孽成为你们的绊脚石。这是主耶和华说的。

亚哈听见这些话，就撕裂衣服，禁食，贴身穿着麻布，也睡在麻布上，沮丧地走来走去。

人与牲畜都要披上麻布，切切求告上帝。各人要回转离开恶道，离弃自己掌中的残暴。谁知道上帝也许会回心转意，不发烈怒，使我们不致灭亡。”上帝察看他们的行为，见他们离开恶道，上帝就改变心意，原先所说要降与他们的灾难，他不降了。

“亚哈在我面前这样谦卑，你看见了吗？因为他在我面前谦卑，所以在他的日子，我不降这祸；到他儿子的时候，我必降这祸于他的家。”

他就向耶和华祷告，说：“耶和华啊，这不就是我仍在本国的时候所说的吗？我知道你是有恩惠，有怜悯的上帝，不轻易发怒，有丰盛的慈爱，并且会改变心意，不降那灾难。我就是因为这样，才急速逃往他施去的呀！

或者他们的恳求达到耶和华面前，各人回转离开恶道，因为耶和华向这百姓所说要发的怒气和愤怒实在很大。”
