Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from their evil ways. Then I will relent and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.

Perhaps they will listen. Maybe they will turn from their evil ways. Then I will not do what I said I would. I will not bring trouble on them. I had planned to punish them because of the evil things they had done.

It may be they will listen, and every one turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the disaster that I intend to do to them because of their evil deeds.

我什么时候宣布要拔出、拆毁、毁灭一邦或一国，如果我论到的那一邦转离他们的恶行，我就必回心转意，不把我原定的灾祸降给他们。同样，我什么时候宣布要建立、栽植一邦或一国，如果他们行我眼中看为恶的事，不听从我的话，我就必回心转意，不把我应许的好处赐给他们。

你们要洗涤自己，洁净自己；从我眼前除掉你们的恶行；要停止作恶，学习行善，寻求公平，指责残暴的人，替孤儿伸冤，为寡妇辨屈。”耶和华说：“你们来，我们彼此辩论；你们的罪虽像硃红，必变成雪白；虽红如丹颜，必白如羊毛。你们若愿意听从，就必得吃地上的美物；

或者犹大家听见我想要降给他们的一切灾祸，各人就回转，离开自己的恶道，我就赦免他们的罪孽和罪恶。”

还有，恶人若回转离开他所行的恶，行正直公义的事，他就可以使自己的性命存活。因为他思量了，就转离他所犯的一切罪过，所以他必然存活，不致灭亡。但以色列家还说：‘主所行的不公平。’以色列家啊，我所行的哪里不公平呢？岂不是你们所行的不公平吗？“因此，以色列家啊，我必照着你们各人所行的审判你们。你们回转吧！离开你们的一切罪过吧！免得罪孽成为你们的绊脚石。这是主耶和华的宣告。

亚哈听见这些话，就撕裂自己的衣服，披上麻布，禁食，睡在麻布上，并且神色颓丧地行走。

不论人畜，都要披上麻衣；各人要恳切呼求神，悔改，离开恶行，摒弃手中的强暴。或者神回心转意，不发烈怒，使我们不致灭亡。’”神看见他们所作的，就是悔改离开恶行，神就转意，不把所说的灾祸降在他们身上了。

“你看见了亚哈在我面前怎样谦卑自己，因为他在我面前谦卑自己，所以他还在世的日子，我必不降这灾祸；到他儿子的日子，我必降这灾祸与他的家。”

就向耶和华祷告，说：“耶和华啊！我还在本国的时候，不是这样说过吗？我知道你是有恩典有怜悯的神，不轻易发怒，并且有丰盛的慈爱，转意不降灾祸，所以我才急忙逃往他施去。

也许他们会向耶和华恳求，各人回转，离开自己的恶道，因为耶和华向这人民所说要发的怒气和烈怒是很大的。”
