彼得和眾使徒回答說：「順從神，不順從人，是應當的。

但你們要確實地知道，若把我治死，就使無辜人的血歸到你們和這城，並其中的居民了；因為耶和華實在差遣我到你們這裏來，將這一切話傳與你們耳中。」

彼得、約翰說：「聽從你們，不聽從神，這在神面前合理不合理，你們自己酌量吧！

「耶和華如此說：你站在耶和華殿的院內，對猶大眾城邑的人，就是到耶和華殿來禮拜的，說我所吩咐你的一切話，一字不可刪減。

所以你當束腰，起來將我所吩咐你的一切話告訴他們；不要因他們驚惶，免得我使你在他們面前驚惶。看哪，我今日使你成為堅城、鐵柱、銅牆，與全地和猶大的君王、首領、祭司，並地上的眾民反對。

耶和華如此說：「你去買窰匠的瓦瓶，又帶百姓中的長老和祭司中的長老，出去到欣嫩子谷、哈珥西的門口那裏，宣告我所吩咐你的話，說：『猶大君王和耶路撒冷的居民哪，當聽耶和華的話。萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神如此說：我必使災禍臨到這地方，凡聽見的人都必耳鳴；

耶和華選召我，使我不跟從羊羣，對我說：『你去向我民以色列說預言。』亞瑪謝啊，現在你要聽耶和華的話。你說：『不要向以色列說預言，也不要向以撒家滴下預言。』所以耶和華如此說：『你的妻子必在城中作妓女；你的兒女必倒在刀下。你的地必有人用繩子量了分取；你自己必死在污穢之地。以色列民定被擄去離開本地。』」
