彼得和眾使徒回答：“服從神過於服從人，是應當的。

不過你們要確實知道，如果你們殺死我，就必使無辜的人的血歸到你們和這城，以及這城的居民頭上，因為耶和華實在差遣了我到你們中間，把這一切話傳到你們耳中。”

彼得和約翰回答：“聽從你們過於聽從神，在神面前對不對，你們自己說吧！

“耶和華這樣說：‘你要站在耶和華殿的院子裡，對來自猶大各城，到耶和華殿敬拜的人，把我吩咐你對他們說的一切話，一字不漏告訴他們。

“因此，你要束腰，你要起來，把我吩咐你的一切話，都告訴他們。不要因他們驚惶，不然我就使你在他們面前驚惶。看哪！今日我使你成為堅城、鐵柱、銅牆，抵擋全地，就是抵擋猶大的君王、首領、祭司和這地的眾民。

耶和華這樣說：“你去跟陶匠買一個瓦瓶，要帶著幾位人民的長老和年長的祭司，出到欣嫩子谷，哈珥西（“哈珥西”意即“瓦片”）門的入口，在那裡你要宣告我將對你說的話。你要說：‘猶大列王和耶路撒冷的居民哪！你們要聽耶和華的話。萬軍之耶和華以色列的神這樣說：看哪！我必使災禍臨到這地方；凡聽見的，都必耳鳴。

但耶和華選召我，叫我不再跟隨羊群；他對我說：‘你去，向我民以色列說預言。’現在你要聽耶和華的話；因為你說：‘不要說預言攻擊以色列，不要說攻擊以撒家的話。’所以，耶和華這樣說：‘你妻子必在城中作妓女，你的兒女必倒在刀下；你的土地必被人量度瓜分，你自己必死在不潔之地；以色列必被擄，離開本國。’”
