“‘ But you have not obeyed me’— this is the LORD’s declaration—‘ with the result that you have angered me by the work of your hands and brought disaster on yourselves.’

惟爾不聽耶和華命、手作偶像、干我震怒、自罹其災、

惟爾不聽我、事爾手所作之偶像、干我震怒、自取災害、此乃主所言、

“ But you did not listen to me,” declares the Lord,“ and you have aroused my anger with what your hands have made, and you have brought harm to yourselves.”

“‘ But you did not listen to me,’ announces the Lord.‘ You have made me very angry with the gods your hands have made. And you have brought harm on yourselves.’

Yet you have not listened to me, declares the Lord, that you might provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own harm.

“ But you would not listen to me,” says the Lord.“ You made me furious by worshiping idols you made with your own hands, bringing on yourselves all the disasters you now suffer.

Yet you have not listened to Me,” declares the Lord,“ in order to provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands to your own harm.

Yet you have not listened to Me,” says the Lord,“ that you might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith Jehovah; that ye may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.

“‘ But you would not obey Me’— this is the Lord’s declaration—‘ in order that you might provoke Me to anger by the work of your hands and bring disaster on yourselves.’

Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

So, now the LORD says,‘ You have not listened to me. But you have made me angry by the things that you have done. Thus you have brought harm on yourselves.’

“ Yet you have not listened to me,” says Yahweh;“ that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.”

because they have done what is evil in my sight and have angered me from the day their ancestors came out of Egypt until today.’”

From their youth, the Israelites and Judeans have done nothing but what is evil in my sight! They have done nothing but anger me by the work of their hands”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ for this city has caused my wrath and fury from the day it was built until now. I will therefore remove it from my presencebecause of all the evil the Israelites and Judeans have done to anger me— they, their kings, their officials, their priests, and their prophets, the men of Judah, and the residents of Jerusalem.They have turned their backs to me and not their faces. Though I taught them time and time again, they do not listen and receive discipline.

They have provoked my jealousy with what is not a god; they have enraged me with their worthless idols. So I will provoke their jealousy with what is not a people; I will enrage them with a foolish nation.

but the one who misses me harms himself; all who hate me love death.”

But they were disobedient and rebelled against you. They flung your law behind their backs and killed your prophets who warned them in order to turn them back to you. They committed terrible blasphemies.

They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire and practiced divination and interpreted omens. They devoted themselves to do what was evil in the LORD’s sight and angered him.

The sons gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead dough to make cakes for the queen of heaven, and they pour out drink offerings to other gods so that they provoke me to anger.But are they really provoking me?” This is the LORD’s declaration.“ Isn’t it they themselves being provoked to disgrace?”
