我又要止息他們歡喜和快樂的聲音、新郎和新娘的聲音、推磨的聲音和燈的亮光。

“我要从他们中间除掉欢喜和快乐的声音，新郎和新妇的声音，推磨的声音和灯的亮光。

我又要使歡喜和快樂的聲音，新郎和新婦的聲音，推磨的聲音和燈的亮光，從他們中間止息。

我又要止息他們歡喜和快樂的聲音、新郎和新娘的聲音、推磨的聲音和燈的亮光。

我要使他們的歡樂聲、新郎新娘的歡笑聲、推磨聲和燈光都消失。

“我要從他們中間除掉歡喜和快樂的聲音，新郎和新婦的聲音，推磨的聲音和燈的亮光。

我也必使歡躍的聲音和喜樂的聲音、新郎的聲音和新婦的聲音、推磨的聲音和燈的亮光、從他們中間都息滅掉。

且我必於其中、絕其歡欣喜樂之聲、新娶者及新婦之聲、旋磨之音、燈火之光、

不聞懽忭之言、新娶者及新婦之音、旋磨之聲不徹於外、燈火之光不耀於內、我使之然。

必使其中、再無欣喜之聲、歡樂之聲、新娶者之聲、新婦之聲、旋磨之聲、亦使再無燈光、

I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, the sound of millstones and the light of the lamp.

I will put an end to the sounds of joy and gladness. I will put an end to the voices of brides and grooms. The sound of grinding millstones will not be heard anymore. And lamps will not be lit anymore.

Moreover, I will banish from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the grinding of the millstones and the light of the lamp.

I will take away your happy singing and laughter. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will no longer be heard. Your millstones will fall silent, and the lights in your homes will go out.

I will eliminate the sound of joy and gladness from them— the voice of the groom and the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp.

Moreover, I will eliminate from them the voice of jubilation and the voice of joy, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp.

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp.

I will put an end to the sounds of joy and gladness, to the glad celebration of brides and grooms in these lands. I will put an end to the sound of people grinding meal. I will put an end to lamps shining in their houses.

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.

那時，我必止息猶大城鎮和耶路撒冷街上歡喜和快樂的聲音、新郎和新娘的聲音，因為這地必然荒蕪。」

我要使你唱歌的聲音止息；人不再聽見你彈琴的聲音。

彈琴、歌唱、吹笛、吹號的聲音，在你中間絕對聽不見了；各行手藝的技工在你中間絕對見不到了；推磨的聲音在你中間絕對聽不見了；燈臺的光在你中間絕對不再照耀了；新郎和新娘的聲音在你中間絕對聽不見了。你的商人原來是地上的顯要；萬國也被你的邪術迷惑了。

因為萬軍之耶和華－以色列的上帝如此說：看哪，你們還活着的日子，我必在你們眼前止息這地方歡喜和快樂的聲音、新郎和新娘的聲音。

耶和華如此說：「你們論這地方，說是荒廢、無人、無牲畜之地，但在這荒涼、無人、無居民、無牲畜的猶大城鎮和耶路撒冷街上，必再聽見歡喜和快樂的聲音、新郎和新娘的聲音，並聽見有人說：你們要稱謝萬軍之耶和華，因耶和華本為善，他的慈愛永遠長存！他們奉感謝祭到耶和華的殿中；因為我必使這地被擄的人歸回，如起初一樣。這是耶和華說的。」

因為我和我的本族被出賣了，要被剪除，殺戮，滅絕。我們若被賣為奴為婢，我就閉口不言；但我們的痛苦比起王的損失，算不得甚麼。」

王准各城各鎮的猶太人在一日之內，在十二月，就是亞達月的十三日聚集，在亞哈隨魯王的各省保護自己的性命，剪除，殺戮，滅絕那要攻擊猶太人的各省各族所有的軍隊，以及他們的妻子兒女，奪取他們的財產為掠物。

不要等到太陽、光明、月亮、星宿變為黑暗，雨後雲又返回；看守房屋的發顫，強壯的屈身，推磨的婦女因人少而停工，從窗戶往外看的眼光變為昏暗；街門關閉，推磨的聲音微小，鳥一叫，就驚醒，唱歌女子的聲音也都微弱；

我必使她的宴樂、節期、初一、安息日，她一切的盛會都止息。

新酒悲哀，葡萄樹凋殘，心中歡樂的都嘆息。擊鼓之樂停止，狂歡者的喧嘩止住，彈琴之樂也停止了。人不再飲酒唱歌，喝烈酒的，必以為苦。荒涼的城拆毀了，各家關閉，無法進入。有人在街上嚷着要酒喝，一切的喜樂變為昏暗，地上的歡樂全都消失。城裏盡是荒涼，城門全都摧毀。

詔書由信差傳到王的各省，限令一日之內，就是在十二月，亞達月十三日，把所有的猶太人，無論老少婦女孩子，全然剪除，殺戮滅絕，並搶奪他們的財產。
