我又要止息他們歡喜和快樂的聲音、新郎和新娘的聲音、推磨的聲音和燈的亮光。

且我必於其中、絕其歡欣喜樂之聲、新娶者及新婦之聲、旋磨之音、燈火之光、

不聞懽忭之言、新娶者及新婦之音、旋磨之聲不徹於外、燈火之光不耀於內、我使之然。

必使其中、再無欣喜之聲、歡樂之聲、新娶者之聲、新婦之聲、旋磨之聲、亦使再無燈光、

I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, the sound of millstones and the light of the lamp.

I will put an end to the sounds of joy and gladness. I will put an end to the voices of brides and grooms. The sound of grinding millstones will not be heard anymore. And lamps will not be lit anymore.

Moreover, I will banish from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the grinding of the millstones and the light of the lamp.

I will take away your happy singing and laughter. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will no longer be heard. Your millstones will fall silent, and the lights in your homes will go out.

I will eliminate the sound of joy and gladness from them— the voice of the groom and the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp.

Moreover, I will eliminate from them the voice of jubilation and the voice of joy, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp.

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp.

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.

那时，我必止息犹大城镇和耶路撒冷街上欢喜和快乐的声音、新郎和新娘的声音，因为这地必然荒芜。”

我要使你唱歌的声音止息；人不再听见你弹琴的声音。

弹琴、歌唱、吹笛、吹号的声音，在你中间绝对听不见了；各行手艺的技工在你中间绝对见不到了；推磨的声音在你中间绝对听不见了；灯台的光在你中间绝对不再照耀了；新郎和新娘的声音在你中间绝对听不见了。你的商人原来是地上的显要；万国也被你的邪术迷惑了。

因为万军之耶和华—以色列的上帝如此说：看哪，你们还活着的日子，我必在你们眼前止息这地方欢喜和快乐的声音、新郎和新娘的声音。

耶和华如此说：“你们论这地方，说是荒废、无人、无牲畜之地，但在这荒凉、无人、无居民、无牲畜的犹大城镇和耶路撒冷街上，必再听见欢喜和快乐的声音、新郎和新娘的声音，并听见有人说：你们要称谢万军之耶和华，因耶和华本为善，他的慈爱永远长存！他们奉感谢祭到耶和华的殿中；因为我必使这地被掳的人归回，如起初一样。这是耶和华说的。”

因为我和我的本族被出卖了，要被剪除，杀戮，灭绝。我们若被卖为奴为婢，我就闭口不言；但我们的痛苦比起王的损失，算不得什么。”

王准各城各镇的犹太人在一日之内，在十二月，就是亚达月的十三日聚集，在亚哈随鲁王的各省保护自己的性命，剪除，杀戮，灭绝那要攻击犹太人的各省各族所有的军队，以及他们的妻子儿女，夺取他们的财产为掠物。

不要等到太阳、光明、月亮、星宿变为黑暗，雨后云又返回；看守房屋的发颤，强壮的屈身，推磨的妇女因人少而停工，从窗户往外看的眼光变为昏暗；街门关闭，推磨的声音微小，鸟一叫，就惊醒，唱歌女子的声音也都微弱；

我必使她的宴乐、节期、初一、安息日，她一切的盛会都止息。

新酒悲哀，葡萄树凋残，心中欢乐的都叹息。击鼓之乐停止，狂欢者的喧哗止住，弹琴之乐也停止了。人不再饮酒唱歌，喝烈酒的，必以为苦。荒凉的城拆毁了，各家关闭，无法进入。有人在街上嚷着要酒喝，一切的喜乐变为昏暗，地上的欢乐全都消失。城里尽是荒凉，城门全都摧毁。

诏书由信差传到王的各省，限令一日之内，就是在十二月，亚达月十三日，把所有的犹太人，无论老少妇女孩子，全然剪除，杀戮灭绝，并抢夺他们的财产。
