可是，你们却亵渎我的名，竟然说我的桌子是污秽的，上面的祭物是可藐视的。你们不屑地说，‘哼！这些事真麻烦！’这是万军之耶和华说的。你们把抢来的、瘸腿的、有病的献给我，我岂能接纳呢？这是耶和华说的。许愿时说要献上羊群中的公羊，后来却拿伤残的来献给主，这种人该受咒诅！因为我是大君王，就是外族人也敬畏我的名。这是万军之耶和华说的。”

耶和华说：“昔日我看见以色列时，像在荒野看见葡萄；看见你们的祖先时，像在无花果树上看见初熟的果子。但他们却祭拜巴力·毗珥，把自己献给可耻的偶像，变得像他们所爱的偶像一样可憎。

“人子啊，葡萄木比林中其他木材更好吗？葡萄木有什么用呢？能用它制造挂钩挂东西吗？它只能用来当柴烧。如果火已经烧了它的两头，中间也烧黑了，它还有什么用呢？它完好无损的时候，尚且不能用来制造工具，被火烧后岂不更没用了吗？

“你们是世上的盐。如果盐失去咸味，怎能使它再变咸呢？它将毫无用处，只有被丢在外面任人践踏。

“以色列的上帝耶和华这样说，‘那些从这里被掳到迦勒底的犹大人在我眼中是好无花果。我要眷顾他们，带他们回到这里。我要使他们兴起，不再毁灭他们；我要栽培他们，不再铲除他们；我要赐给他们一颗心，使他们认识我是耶和华。他们要做我的子民，我要做他们的上帝，因为他们必全心全意地归向我。’至于那些坏得不能吃的无花果，耶和华这样说，‘犹大王西底迦及其官员，以及留在耶路撒冷和埃及的人在我眼中就像坏得不能吃的无花果。我必丢弃他们，使他们的遭遇令天下万国惊惧。在我流放他们去的地方，他们必受凌辱、嘲笑、讥讽和咒诅。我要使战争、饥荒和瘟疫临到他们，直到他们在我赐给他们和他们祖先的土地上灭亡。’”

万军之耶和华这样说，‘看啊，我必使战争、饥荒和瘟疫临到他们，使他们像烂得不能吃的无花果。
