So I, the LORD, tell you not to be afraid, you descendants of Jacob, my servants. Do not be terrified, people of Israel. “ Seventy weeks have been determined concerning your people and your holy city to put an end to rebellion, to bring sin to completion, to atone for iniquity, to bring in perpetual righteousness, to seal up the prophetic vision, and to anoint a most holy place.

All the people of Judah and Israel had security; everyone from Dan to Beer Sheba enjoyed the produce of their vines and fig trees throughout Solomon’s lifetime.

and said to him,“ Hurry, speak to this young man as follows:‘ Jerusalem will no longer be enclosed by walls because of the multitude of people and animals there.But I( the LORD says) will be a wall of fire surrounding Jerusalem and the source of glory in her midst.’”

No lions will be there, no ferocious wild animals will be on it– they will not be found there. Those delivered from bondage will travel on it,

At that time you will say:“ I praise you, O LORD, for even though you were angry with me, your anger subsided, and you consoled me.Look, God is my deliverer! I will trust in him and not fear. For the LORD gives me strength and protects me; he has become my deliverer.”

But on Mount Zion there will be a remnant of those who escape, and it will be a holy place once again. The descendants of Jacob will conquer those who had conquered them.

But I will have pity on the nation of Judah. I will deliver them by the LORD their God; I will not deliver them by the warrior’s bow, by sword, by military victory, by chariot horses, or by chariots.”

In that day,’ says the LORD who rules over all,‘ everyone will invite his friend to fellowship under his vine and under his fig tree.’”

Then Jesus said to him,“ Today salvation has come to this household, because he too is a son of Abraham!For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

He will judge disputes between nations; he will settle cases for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nations will not take up the sword against other nations, and they will no longer train for war.

Those who have been delivered will go up on Mount Zion in order to rule over Esau’s mountain. Then the LORD will reign as King!

“ I( says the LORD) will strengthen the kingdom of Judah and deliver the people of Joseph and will bring them back because of my compassion for them. They will be as though I had never rejected them, for I am the LORD their God and therefore I will hear them.

And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:“ The Deliverer will come out of Zion; he will remove ungodliness from Jacob.And this is my covenant with them, when I take away their sins.”

The LORD will then be king over all the earth. In that day the LORD will be seen as one with a single name.All the land will change and become like the Arabah from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem; and Jerusalem will be raised up and will stay in its own place from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate and on to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.And people will settle there, and there will no longer be the threat of divine extermination– Jerusalem will dwell in security.

O Israel, hope in the LORD, for the LORD exhibits loyal love, and is more than willing to deliver.He will deliver Israel from all the consequences of their sins.

Israel lives in safety, the fountain of Jacob is quite secure, in a land of grain and new wine; indeed, its heavens rain down dew.You have joy, Israel! Who is like you? You are a people delivered by the LORD, your protective shield and your exalted sword. May your enemies cringe before you; may you trample on their backs.

“‘ I will make a covenant of peace with them and will rid the land of wild beasts, so that they can live securely in the wilderness and even sleep in the woods.I will turn them and the regions around my hill into a blessing. I will make showers come down in their season; they will be showers that bring blessing.The trees of the field will yield their fruit and the earth will yield its crops. They will live securely on their land; they will know that I am the LORD, when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the hand of those who enslaved them.They will no longer be prey for the nations and the wild beasts will not devour them. They will live securely and no one will make them afraid.

Israel will be delivered once and for all by the LORD; you will never again be ashamed or humiliated.

“‘ My servant David will be king over them; there will be one shepherd for all of them. They will follow my regulations and carefully observe my statutes.They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, in which your fathers lived; they will live in it– they and their children and their grandchildren forever. David my servant will be prince over them forever.I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be a perpetual covenant with them. I will establish them, increase their numbers, and place my sanctuary among them forever.My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.Then, when my sanctuary is among them forever, the nations will know that I, the LORD, sanctify Israel.’”
