“ Am I only a God nearby,” declares the Lord,“ and not a God far away?

耶和华说：“我岂为近处的神呢？不也为远处的神吗？”

我是靠近你们的上帝，不是遥远的上帝，不是吗？这是耶和华说的。

我是靠近你们的神，不是遥远的神，不是吗？这是耶和华说的。

耶和华说：“我是无处不在的上帝。”

难道我只是近处的神吗？不也是远处的神吗？”这是耶和华的宣告。

耶和華說：「我豈為近處的神呢？不也為遠處的神嗎？」

永恆主發神諭說：『我，難道我只是近處的上帝？不也是遠處的上帝麼？

耶和華曰、我為上帝、豈知近而不知遠乎、

耶和華又曰、我為上帝、無間遐邇。

主曰、我為天主、豈獨鑒察近事乎、不亦鑒察遠事乎、

“ Am I only a God who is nearby?” announces the Lord.“ Am I not a God who is also far away?

“ Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away?

Am I a God who is only close at hand?” says the Lord.“ No, I am far away at the same time.

“ Am I a God who is only near”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ and not a God who is far away?

“ Am I a God who is near,” declares the Lord,“ And not a God far off?

“ Am I a God near at hand,” says the Lord,“ And not a God afar off?

Am I a God at hand, saith Jehovah, and not a God afar off?

“ Am I a God who is only near”— this is the Lord’s declaration—“ and not a God who is far away?

[ Am] I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?

Do you people think that I am some local deity and not the transcendent God?” the LORD asks.

“ Am I a God at hand,” says Yahweh,“ and not a God afar off?

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.

“‘ You say,“ We want to be like the nations, like the peoples of the world, who serve wood and stone.” But what you have in mind will never happen.As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I will reign over you with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with outpoured wrath.I will bring you from the nations and gather you from the countries where you have been scattered— with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with outpoured wrath.I will bring you into the wilderness of the nations and there, face to face, I will execute judgment upon you.

Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high,

The man of God came up and told the king of Israel,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Because the Arameans think the Lord is a god of the hills and not a god of the valleys, I will deliver this vast army into your hands, and you will know that I am the Lord.’”
