They say continually to those who despise the word of the Lord,‘ It shall be well with you’; and to everyone who stubbornly follows his own heart, they say,‘ No disaster shall come upon you.’”

他们不断对那些藐视我的人说：‘耶和华说：你们必平安无事！’又对所有随从自己顽梗的心行事的人说：‘灾祸必不临到你们！’”

他們常對藐視我的人說：『耶和華說：你們必享平安』；又對一切按自己頑梗之心而行的人說：『必沒有災禍臨到你們。』」

他們不斷地對藐視永恆主之話的人說：「你們必平安無事」；又對所有隨着自己頑強之心意而行的人說：「必沒有災禍會臨到你們。」』

彼恆謂藐我者曰、耶和華云、爾必綏安、謂徇己心之剛愎者曰、災不及於爾身、

有人藐視予、彼託我命、言必獲平康、有人縱私欲、彼言必不遇害。

彼向藐視我者曰、主云、爾必獲平康、向縱欲剛愎自用者曰、必無災降於爾、

They keep saying to those who despise me,‘ The Lord says: You will have peace.’ And to all who follow the stubbornness of their hearts they say,‘ No harm will come to you.’

They keep speaking to those who hate me. They say,‘ The Lord says you will have peace.’ They speak to all those who do what their stubborn hearts want them to do. They tell them,‘ No harm will come to you.’

They keep saying to those who despise my word,‘ Don’t worry! The Lord says you will have peace!’ And to those who stubbornly follow their own desires, they say,‘ No harm will come your way!’

They keep on saying to those who despise me,‘ The LORD has spoken: You will have peace.’ They have said to everyone who follows the stubbornness of his heart,‘ No harm will come to you.’”

They keep saying to those who despise Me,‘ The Lord has said,“ You will have peace” ’; And as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, They say,‘ Disaster will not come on you.’

They continually say to those who despise Me,‘ The Lord has said,“ You shall have peace”’; And to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say,‘ No evil shall come upon you.’”

They say continually unto them that despise me, Jehovah hath said, Ye shall have peace; and unto every one that walketh in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, No evil shall come upon you.

They keep on saying to those who despise Me,‘ The Lord has said: You will have peace.’ They have said to everyone who follows the stubbornness of his heart,‘ No harm will come to you.’”

They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

They continually say to those who reject what the LORD has said,‘ Things will go well for you!’ They say to all those who follow the stubborn inclinations of their own hearts,‘ Nothing bad will happen to you!’

They say continually to those who despise me,‘ Yahweh has said,“ You will have peace;”’ and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say,‘ No evil will come on you.’

Its heads give judgment for a bribe; its priests teach for a price; its prophets practice divination for money; yet they lean on the Lord and say,“ Is not the Lord in the midst of us? No disaster shall come upon us.”

This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who stubbornly follow their own heart and have gone after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be like this loincloth, which is good for nothing.

All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, who say,‘ Disaster shall not overtake or meet us.’

Thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who lead my people astray, who cry“ Peace” when they have something to eat, but declare war against him who puts nothing into their mouths.

one who, when he hears the words of this sworn covenant, blesses himself in his heart, saying,‘ I shall be safe, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart.’ This will lead to the sweeping away of moist and dry alike.

but have stubbornly followed their own hearts and have gone after the Baals, as their fathers taught them.

They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying,‘ Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.

They have spoken falsely of the Lord and have said,‘ He will do nothing; no disaster will come upon us, nor shall we see sword or famine.

Because you have disheartened the righteous falsely, although I have not grieved him, and you have encouraged the wicked, that he should not turn from his evil way to save his life,

They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying,‘ Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.

For the household gods utter nonsense, and the diviners see lies; they tell false dreams and give empty consolation. Therefore the people wander like sheep; they are afflicted for lack of a shepherd.

Precisely because they have misled my people, saying,‘ Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when the people build a wall, these prophets smear it with whitewash,

but a whole month, until it comes out at your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you, because you have rejected the Lord who is among you and have wept before him, saying,“ Why did we come out of Egypt?”’”

At that time Jerusalem shall be called the throne of the Lord, and all nations shall gather to it, to the presence of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they shall no more stubbornly follow their own evil heart.

Then they said,“ Come, let us make plots against Jeremiah, for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not pay attention to any of his words.”

There is no peace,” says my God,“ for the wicked.”

But they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in their own counsels and the stubbornness of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.

Then I said:“ Ah, Lord God, behold, the prophets say to them,‘ You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.’”And the Lord said to me:“ The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, worthless divination, and the deceit of their own minds.

Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares:‘ I promised that your house and the house of your father should go in and out before me forever,’ but now the Lord declares:‘ Far be it from me, for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

Tell the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds.Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for what his hands have dealt out shall be done to him.

Your prophets have seen for you false and deceptive visions; they have not exposed your iniquity to restore your fortunes, but have seen for you oracles that are false and misleading.

Thus will I spend my wrath upon the wall and upon those who have smeared it with whitewash, and I will say to you, The wall is no more, nor those who smeared it,the prophets of Israel who prophesied concerning Jerusalem and saw visions of peace for her, when there was no peace, declares the Lord God.

Then I said,“ Ah, Lord God, surely you have utterly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying,‘ It shall be well with you,’ whereas the sword has reached their very life.”

Within two years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the Lord’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon.I will also bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the exiles from Judah who went to Babylon, declares the Lord, for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.”Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to Hananiah the prophet in the presence of the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the Lord,and the prophet Jeremiah said,“ Amen! May the Lord do so; may the Lord make the words that you have prophesied come true, and bring back to this place from Babylon the vessels of the house of the Lord, and all the exiles.Yet hear now this word that I speak in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people.The prophets who preceded you and me from ancient times prophesied war, famine, and pestilence against many countries and great kingdoms.As for the prophet who prophesies peace, when the word of that prophet comes to pass, then it will be known that the Lord has truly sent the prophet.”

Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’

Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. But you say,‘ How have we despised your name?’

“ The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me.”

At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and I will punish the men who are complacent, those who say in their hearts,‘ The Lord will not do good, nor will he do ill.’
