I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.How long shall[ this] be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea,[ they are] prophets of the deceit of their own heart;

They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

[ To wit], the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and[ there is] no peace, saith the Lord GOD.

For without[ are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

They helped every one his neighbour; and[ every one] said to his brother, Be of good courage.So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith,[ and] he that smootheth[ with] the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It[ is] ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails,[ that] it should not be moved.

But the men of Sodom[ were] wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned[ them] with an overthrow, making[ them] an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam[ the son] of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.For when they speak great swelling[ words] of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh,[ through much] wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

[ Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

And thine elder sister[ is] Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand,[ is] Sodom and her daughters.Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as[ if that were] a very little[ thing], thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.[ As] I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw[ good].Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
