This is what the Lord says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.

The Lord says,“ Do what is fair and right. Save those who have been robbed. Set them free from the people who have treated them badly. Do not do anything wrong to outsiders or widows in this place. Do not harm children whose fathers have died. Do not kill those who are not guilty of doing anything wrong.

Thus says the Lord: Do justice and righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the resident alien, the fatherless, and the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.

This is what the Lord says: Be fair minded and just. Do what is right! Help those who have been robbed; rescue them from their oppressors. Quit your evil deeds! Do not mistreat foreigners, orphans, and widows. Stop murdering the innocent!

Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and the prophets,“ This man should not be sentenced to death! He has spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God.” (niv)

Do not move an ancient boundary stone or encroach on the fields of the fatherless, (niv)

When people have a dispute, they are to take it to court and the judges will decide the case, acquitting the innocent and condemning the guilty. (niv)

“ Do not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits.Have nothing to do with a false charge and do not put an innocent or honest person to death, for I will not acquit the guilty.“ Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the innocent.“ Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt. He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. (niv)

And you sent widows away empty-handed and broke the strength of the fatherless. (niv)

“ When I went to the gate of the city and took my seat in the public square,the young men saw me and stepped aside and the old men rose to their feet;the chief men refrained from speaking and covered their mouths with their hands;the voices of the nobles were hushed, and their tongues stuck to the roof of their mouths.Whoever heard me spoke well of me, and those who saw me commended me,because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them.The one who was dying blessed me; I made the widow’s heart sing.I put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban.I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame.I was a father to the needy; I took up the case of the stranger.I broke the fangs of the wicked and snatched the victims from their teeth. If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly,if you do not oppress the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, (niv)

but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. (niv)

They slay the widow and the foreigner; they murder the fatherless. (niv)

“ Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!” (niv)
