Therefore this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:“ They will not mourn for him:‘ Alas, my brother! Alas, my sister!’ They will not mourn for him:‘ Alas, my master! Alas, his splendor!’

所以，耶和華論到猶大王約西亞的兒子約雅敬如此說：人必不為他舉哀說：哀哉！我的哥哥；或說：哀哉！我的姊姊；也不為他舉哀說：哀哉！我的主；或說：哀哉！我主的榮華。

所以，耶和華論到約西亞的兒子猶大王約雅敬如此說：人必不為他舉哀：「哀哉，我的哥哥！哀哉，我的姊姊！」也不為他舉哀：「哀哉，我的主！哀哉，我主的榮華！」

所以，耶和華論到約西亞的兒子猶大王約雅敬如此說：人必不為他舉哀：「哀哉，我的哥哥！哀哉，我的姊姊！」也不為他舉哀：「哀哉，我的主！哀哉，我主的榮華！」

耶和華曰、猶大王、約西亞次子約雅金、既死之時、民不舉哀哭泣、曰、哀哉兄弟姊妹乎、惜哉我主、顯榮安在乎。

故主論猶大王約西亞子約雅敬如是云、民不為之舉哀曰、哀哉我兄、哀哉我姊、亦不為之舉哀曰、哀哉我主、哀哉我主之榮、

So the Lord speaks about King Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah. He says,“ His people will not mourn for him. They will not say,‘ My poor brother! My poor sister!’ They will not mourn for him. They will not say,‘ My poor master! How sad that his glory is gone!’

Therefore thus says the Lord concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:“ They shall not lament for him, saying,‘ Ah, my brother!’ or‘ Ah, sister!’ They shall not lament for him, saying,‘ Ah, lord!’ or‘ Ah, his majesty!’

Therefore, this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim, son of King Josiah:“ The people will not mourn for him, crying to one another,‘ Alas, my brother! Alas, my sister!’ His subjects will not mourn for him, crying,‘ Alas, our master is dead! Alas, his splendor is gone!’

Therefore, this is what the LORD says concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah: They will not mourn for him, saying,“ Woe, my brother!” or“ Woe, my sister!” They will not mourn for him, saying,“ Woe, lord! Woe, his majesty!”

Therefore this is what the Lord says regarding Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:“ They will not mourn for him:‘ Oh, my brother!’ or,‘ Oh, sister!’ They will not mourn for him:‘ Oh, for the master!’ or,‘ Oh, for his splendor!’

Therefore thus says the Lord concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:“ They shall not lament for him, Saying,‘ Alas, my brother!’ or‘ Alas, my sister!’“ They shall not lament for him, Saying,‘ Alas, master!’ or‘ Alas, his glory!’

Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah: they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! They shall not lament for him, saying Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!

Therefore, this is what the Lord says concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah: They will not mourn for him, saying,“ Woe, my brother!” or“ Woe, my sister!” They will not mourn for him, saying,“ Woe, lord! Woe, his majesty!”

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him,[ saying], Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him,[ saying], Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!

So the LORD has this to say about Josiah’s son, King Jehoiakim of Judah: People will not mourn for him, saying,“ This makes me sad, my brother! This makes me sad, my sister!” They will not mourn for him, saying,“ Poor, poor lord! Poor, poor majesty!”

Therefore Yahweh says concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:“ They won’t lament for him, saying,‘ Ah my brother!’ or,‘ Ah sister!’ They won’t lament for him, saying‘ Ah lord!’ or,‘ Ah his glory!’

“ Both high and low will die in this land. They will not be buried or mourned, and no one will cut themselves or shave their head for the dead.

Then he laid the body in his own tomb, and they mourned over him and said,“ Alas, my brother!”

Do not weep for the dead king or mourn his loss; rather, weep bitterly for him who is exiled, because he will never return nor see his native land again.

“ They will die of deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried but will be like dung lying on the ground. They will perish by sword and famine, and their dead bodies will become food for the birds and the wild animals.”

The king sang this lament for Abner:“ Should Abner have died as the lawless die?Your hands were not bound, your feet were not fettered. You fell as one falls before the wicked.” And all the people wept over him again.Then they all came and urged David to eat something while it was still day; but David took an oath, saying,“ May God deal with me, be it ever so severely, if I taste bread or anything else before the sun sets!”All the people took note and were pleased; indeed, everything the king did pleased them.So on that day all the people there and all Israel knew that the king had no part in the murder of Abner son of Ner.Then the king said to his men,“ Do you not realize that a commander and a great man has fallen in Israel this day?

I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women.

In the course of time, at the end of the second year, his bowels came out because of the disease, and he died in great pain. His people made no funeral fire in his honor, as they had for his predecessors.Jehoram was thirty- two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years. He passed away, to no one’s regret, and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.

Jeremiah composed laments for Josiah, and to this day all the male and female singers commemorate Josiah in the laments. These became a tradition in Israel and are written in the Laments.

you will die peacefully. As people made a funeral fire in honor of your predecessors, the kings who ruled before you, so they will make a fire in your honor and lament,“ Alas, master!” I myself make this promise, declares the Lord.’”
