他说：“我要为自己盖广大的房、宽敞的楼，为自己开窗户。这楼房的护墙板是香柏木的，楼房是丹色油漆的。”

他说：“我要为自己盖宽敞的房，盖高大的楼。”他为它开窗户，以香柏木为墙板，漆上丹红色。

He says,‘ I will build myself a great palace with spacious upper rooms.’ So he makes large windows in it, panels it with cedar and decorates it in red.

He says,‘ I will build a magnificent palace with huge rooms and many windows. I will panel it throughout with fragrant cedar and paint it a lovely red.’

王對神言人拿單說：『你看我，我住在香柏木的宮殿，而上帝的櫃反而住在幔子中間。』

『這殿荒廢無鑲蓋，而你們自己倒住在有鑲蓋的房屋：難道這就是這樣作的時候麼？

有禍啊！那些使房屋連接房屋，使田地毗連田地，以致不留餘地，而你們只好獨居境內！萬軍之永恆主曾經起誓，使我親耳聽到：他說：『必有許多房屋變成荒涼，又大又美，無人居住。

王應時說：『這豈不是大巴比倫，我用我財力的權勢所建築、做王家宮殿，要顯示我威嚴之光榮的麼？』

你要在外頭豫備你所作的，在田間自己準備停當，然後娶妻，建立家室。

以東若說：『我們現在雖被毁壞，卻必重建廢墟』，萬軍之永恆主卻這麼說：『他們儘管建造，我卻必拆毁，直到他們被叫做邪惡之境地、永恆主永遠惱怒的人民。』

大殿的牆他用松木板蓋上，又蓋上純金，上面刻着棕樹和鍊子。

你們中間誰想要建造守望樓，不先坐下，計算費用，有沒有作到完竣的把握呢？恐怕他立好了根基，竟不能造成，看的人就會譏誚起來，

愛爭競的、是愛受傷；高立其門的、自尋破毁。

直到這眾民都體驗到，以法蓮和撒瑪利亞的居民都明白；因為他們憑驕傲、憑自大之心而說：

我們房屋的棟梁是香柏木的；我們的椽子是扁柏木的。
