他的臣僕用車載他的死屍，從米吉多送到耶路撒冷，將他埋葬在他自己的墳墓裏，猶大地的人民將約西亞的兒子約哈斯膏了油，設立為王，來接替他父親。約哈斯登極的時候二十三歲；他在耶路撒冷作王三個月。他母親名叫哈慕他，是立拿人耶利米的女兒。約哈斯行永恆主所看為壞的事，像他列祖一切所行的。法老尼哥將約哈斯鎖禁在哈馬地的利比拉，不許他在耶路撒冷作王；又向猶大地要罰款；一百擔銀子、一擔金子。法老尼哥立了約西亞的兒子以利亞敬接替他父親約西亞作王，給他改名叫約雅敬；卻將約哈斯帶走；約哈斯來到埃及，就死在那裏。

因此永恆主論猶大王約西亞的兒子約雅敬、是這麼說的：『人必不為他舉哀，好像人舉哀說：「哀啊，我哥哥！」「哀啊，我姐姐！」人必不為他舉哀，好像人舉哀說：「哀啊，主上啊！」「哀啊，陛下呀！」

弓箭手射中了約西亞王；王對他的臣僕說：『將我背過去吧！我受了重傷了。』他的臣僕將他從戰車上背過來，上了跟着他、的第二輛車，把他送到耶路撒冷；他就死了，被埋葬在他列祖的墳墓裏。猶大和耶路撒冷的眾人都為他哀悼。耶利米也為約西亞作了哀歌；所有的男女歌唱者在他們的哀詞中都說追悼約西亞的話；直到今日還是如此；他們並且在以色列中以此作為條例。看哪，這些詞都記在《哀歌》書上呢。

所以你看吧，我必將你收殮歸你列祖；使你安安然然被收殮歸入墳墓。我所要降於這地方的一切災禍、你也不至於親眼看到。」』聽完了之後，他們就將這話回覆了王。

她把她的一隻小獅子養大起來；成了少壯獅子，學會了抓撕成抓到之物而喫人。列國揚聲吶喊要逮捕他，在他們坑中給捉住了；他們用鈎子拉他到埃及地。

耶穌轉過身來，對她們說：『耶路撒冷的女子啊，別為我哭了！只要為你們自己和你們的兒女哭。
