萬有之主以色列族之上帝耶和華云、爾曾書達耶路撒冷居民、與馬西雅子祭司西番雅及眾祭司、書曰、

馬擔子示法提亞、巴述子其大利、示利米子猶甲、馬勒家子巴述、聞耶利米言、傳述於眾、

侍衛長擄祭司西勑亞、祭司之次者西番雅、與閽者三人。

亦有馬其亞曾孫、巴述孫、耶羅罕子亞大雅。及音麥耳孫、米實利密玄孫、米書闌曾孫、耶西拉孫、亞鐵子馬西哀皆族中最著者、

巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、立約西亞子西底家、為王於猶大、以代約雅金子約雅斤。

猶大王西底家十年、即尼布甲尼撒王十八年、耶利米奉耶和華命、當時巴比倫王帥師、圍耶路撒冷、先知耶利米幽於外獄、在猶大王宮側、蓋耶利米曾曰、耶和華云、我將付此城於巴比倫王、使彼取之、猶大王西底家不能脫於迦勒底人手、必解至巴比倫王前、詰問研究、曳至巴比倫、居彼、待我耶和華眷顧之、爾曹雖戰巴比倫軍、必不獲利。西底家王聞之、怒其言不利、故下之於獄。

西底家乃立拿人、耶利米女哈母達所出、年二十有一、即位於耶路撒冷、凡歷十一年、行惡於耶和華前、效約雅金所為、故耶和華怒耶路撒冷、猶大之民、咸驅逐之、西底家叛巴比倫王。

歲暮尼布甲尼撒王遣使臣、取王至巴比倫、虜耶和華殿之珍器、立約雅斤叔西底家、治猶大耶路撒冷、年二十有一即位、都耶路撒冷凡十一年、行惡於上帝耶和華前、先知耶利米雖諭以耶和華命、猶不痛自怨艾、尼布甲尼撒王使之指上帝而誓、永不離叛、王猶強項不馴、剛愎乃心、不歸以色列族之上帝耶和華、更背尼布甲尼撒王。
