But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it!

Then I said,“ I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not.

And if I say, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name, then there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with forbearing, and I cannot contain.

Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But[ his word] was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not[ stay].

Sometimes I think,“ I will make no mention of his message. I will not speak as his messenger any more.” But then his message becomes like a fire locked up inside of me, burning in my heart and soul. I grow weary of trying to hold it in; I cannot contain it.

The more I thought about it, the hotter I got, igniting a fire of words:

For I am full of pent up words, and the spirit within me urges me on.I am like a cask of wine without a vent, like a new wineskin ready to burst!I must speak to find relief, so let me give my answers.

We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.”

The Spirit lifted me up and took me away. I went in bitterness and turmoil, but the Lord’s hold on me was strong.

While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was deeply troubled by all the idols he saw everywhere in the city.

Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about. I am compelled by God to do it. How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News!If I were doing this on my own initiative, I would deserve payment. But I have no choice, for God has given me this sacred trust.

If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit.Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

So now I am filled with the Lord’s fury. Yes, I am tired of holding it in!“ I will pour out my fury on children playing in the streets and on gatherings of young men, on husbands and wives and on those who are old and gray.

But Jesus told him,“ Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”

He existed in the beginning with God.God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.

Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there.Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die.“ I have had enough, Lord,” he said.“ Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”

( though Jesus himself didn’t baptize them— his disciples did).So he left Judea and returned to Galilee.

And after Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul spent all his time preaching the word. He testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah.

Barnabas agreed and wanted to take along John Mark.But Paul disagreed strongly, since John Mark had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in their work.
